Greetings!

I am a USC with a 3 year old, my partner is a naturalized UK citizen (10 years ago) and Ukrainian citizen. We've known each other for 25years. Over a year ago we started the long distance relationship thing; I in Ukraine, he in the UK. I we decided to try to live together & I've been "visiting" him in the UK waiting to get licensed as a nurse (I'm a US RN)

The Nurse Midwifery Council stated that the "new procedure" implemented October 2014 would have me licensed in 6 months. I sarted the process November 2014 & there is no progress in my licensing as they keep loosing documents. Some of these documents are expensive & take a month to get so getting them numerous times is starting to annoy me. .

The flip side is that we've lived together, experienced each other on good days & bad days and have come to understand each other's views on rearing a child. We've decided that we want to stay together...that is get married!!!!

I have also learned that with a 95% certainty....even if I got licensed to work here I probably would not want to live in the UK.

My partner has been to the US once (9 years ago) & feels he is 95% certain he would like living there (his son's grandfather also lives in the US).

So....now what do we do to be legally allowed to reside in the US together?

I have gotten very confused as there appear to be at least 3-4 different ways to approach this. Of course we are looking for a process that would meet our situation & would be least expensive & least time consuming.

Can provide additional information as needed. but here are some things I think probably matter:

-I have not lived in the US since 2008 but own a house there that I rent out (VT).

-We have enough money for a down payment on a new house (NJ where my family is).

-My family has a family business which would probably give him a job...at least a first job (NJ)

-I can go to the US ASAP; live with my parents & start working before we get married

-both of our names appear on our current UK rental agreement.

THANK YOU!!!
