It does seem that many such threads are based on ignorance, fear and xenophobia. After all, this is an immigration site, bound to attract those who might feel better and less constipated living in a more homogeneous world.

ISIS are indeed real bad actors and no doubt that they have aspirations in regards to causing harm to Europe and the West. But the panicked xenophobia of OP after OP and in post after post show that at least some people who post regularly here are unnaturally scared and have bought in, hook, line and sinker into a pre-apocalyptic vision in regards to the actual threat that ISIS can carry out their grandiose designs.

The funny thing is that what has happened in Iraq and Syria is exactly what Al Qaeda was trying to achieve in the first place and what the US et Al supposedly went to war to prevent. Instead they have kicked over the anthills and enabled just that exact outcome.

Your assumption is that there aren't genuine refugees, and if there are that it isn't worth granting them asylum.

I don't agree with that. Neither do the decision makers

Begging your pardon, but I don't see where Lost said anything remotely like that. He simply posted an article that illustrates that there are many people trying to get in on the free meal ticket that is being offered to the Syrians. He never said that there weren't valid refugees among the groups.
