US Embassy - Abu Dhabi (visa appointment) K1 Visa

Hi! Everyone. I am the beneficiary and my petitioner has received an email from US Embassy Abu Dhabi to schedule the visa appointment along the list of the documents required for the interview.

My questions are the following:

1) We are currently gathering the documents needed and I am still waiting for my petitioner to send me his AOS. When should I schedule for the interview? Can I schedule the interview prior to completing all the required documents? Will I be able to choose the interview date?

2) With regards to the Medical, I haven't done the medical yet. what are the required documents needed to get a medical? Will the medical center give you the medical result on the same day?

3) Lastly, regarding the police clearances. I needed a police clearance from Hong Kong. I have already applied but the Hong Kong government said they will send the clearance directly to the embassy within 4 calendar weeks. How would I know that the embassy has already received my police clearance?

Your help is very much appreciated.

Thank you

For Abu Dhabi they usually schedule the date for you it should have been included in that email. In regards to the medical that information should be in the email too you will need passport photos and and shot records you may have. Its recommended to do the medical at least a week before the interview. It would help others if you fill out your timeline...when was your case received at the embassy?

Hi waitingstill21. Thanks for the reply. They send an email to my petitioner on August 24, 2015.The email said that they have received the fiance file along with the 3 attachments. List of required documents to bring during the interview (1st attachment) list of panel of clinics for medical (2nd attachment) and Security information or the DO's and Don'ts on interview date (3rd attachment). It did not mentioned the schedule date for the appointment. It just said that I need to go to the mentioned website to schedule my visa appointment. They said something about transitioning into a new appointment system. I think they are introducing a new system for scheduling the appointment.

As for the medical they did not mentioned anything except the names of the certified medical centers. I guess I will call one of the medical centers to inquire. Thank you for the information that it should be a week before the interview.

I am new here so I'm kind of doesn't know what to do :) thanks for the tip. I will fill up my timeline soon. Thanks

Have you checked the embassy info there is a section that has some medical info but not much it says to bring passport photos the number needed is different depending where you go your shot records and your passport. I am still waiting for info from the embassy they received our stuff last Sunday so I'm hoping to hear something soon.

Yes I have check the embassy info for the medical. Actually what is written in the embassy website concerning the medical is the same information they sent in the attachment. They mentioned though that if you have any inquiries you have to contact one of the panel clinics.

How did you know that they have received your file last Sunday?

Hi there,

You will need to gather all documents prior to setting up your appointment date since you don't exactly know how long it will take the police report to get to the embassy. I would suggest contacting the embassy through email and following up until they receive the report then you can schedule your appointment online on the website stated in the attachment email they sent. Previously, the embassy used to give you an interview date, but the started a new system where applicants set their interview date. That's how I did it a week ago. The medical may take 3-4 business days at most. Hope this helps and good luck :)

  • 4 weeks later...

Good Day Everyone! I am appealing to the USEM Abu Dhabi applicants who have gone through this already.

have submitted my DS-160 online and I got the confirmation already. My question is where do I pay the visa fee for the application? and How much is the fee?

I have read in here that you can pay the fee in the embassy on your interview date but I also read from their website that you need to pay to National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

I am confused here please enlighten me.

Also, I want to know what do the Medical Clinics required to bring for the Medical Exam?

Your help is very much appreciated.

Thank you
