Going a bit tangential here, but...

I can remember when my imm attorney had (royally) messed up my case by filing in the wrong category--which meant a considerable wait (turned out to be nearly 2 years) for cutoff-date progression. During that time, I found that for employment-based GC's, Consular Processing at Montreal would be likely faster than AOS through TSC.

Getting to the point now: the cutoff-dates DID progress; and by filing an I-824, I swapped to CP at Montreal--and got the GC in Dec. 1999 (and US naturalisation in Apr. 2005).

So, be patient and have faith Tracy.

I'll try to remember that! But when you consider your NOA2 was three weeks ago, and yet here I sit - its hard to actually 'believe' its going to come.

Looks like you're on CSC time. Anything unusual about your petition that would delay it? IMBRA or maybe an RFE? I think we should start a prayer thread for EVERYONE going through the California Service Center!

Posted (edited)

Never filed any sort of petition before (so no IMBRA) and I haven't received an RFE. In fact, my case has had no movement whatsoever except its last touch on 11/27.

Definitely on CSC time. Which equates to 'whenever we freaking feel like it'.

And believe it or not everyone - I do feel I'm being patient (what choice do I really have?). But its hard to be completely content when December filers whiz past and I haven't even had a touch.

Sending more mojo your way. Have you tried contacting your senator yet? It wouldn't hurt fro CSC to get a ohone call from them. They will say you are within normal timelines, but they will still call. You are in my prayers every night and I know the frustration. No one can really know how you feel, bc we aren't in your shoes 100%. It's hard to keep the faith when, like you said, other goes zipping by you. I look forward to the day that I see your post saying you were approved.

Thanks, patiently_waiting. :) I surely do appreciate the prayers.

From what HuskerKiev said in his thread, it'd be way to early for me to consider calling my representative. He suggested 30 days past VJ processing times (which would mean the end of March). And I agree - would likely just be told that I'm within processing times.

I'm praying for you too ... I'm a December filer and seeing people everyday who sent in theirs after us get approvals is very depressing and stressful, so I can only imagain what you are going through. I really wish there was more that can be done , this whole process is just the most horrible process and the people at the CSC (or wherever) just dont understand the way our lives are affected by this. They can just leave their desk at the end of their shift and go home to their loved ones, while we sit here waiting - all because they looked at the petition, thought it may be complicated (although it may not be) and put it to the back or aside and forgot! I wish you all the luck in the world for your approval. x

Thanks JamalXTam - I appreciate it. I'm sure you can relate to how I feel based on your timeline. So just multiply your angst by 2 and that's how I've felt the last two weeks. Really sucks.

I am sure the CSC employees take care with our personal information. I don't think they are heartless - I just think they are swamped, and probably after looking at 20 + applications a day, it may seem like we're just names on a pages instead of couples (honey bunnies :D trying to start our lives. Its all in their hands.

Tracy keep in mind that your NOA1 came during the week of THANKSGIVING. USCIS was probably shut down that Thursday and Friday and they probably did not feel like working the following week.

You are grouped in with the December filers, Just my guess, so your NOA2 should come in the next couple of weeks if not sooner.

That would be a great thing if it were the case.... but that would also mean that every November filer in the same week and behind her would still be waiting for approvals....

YMMV

She has to be in the with the December filers, where else would her file be?
