Hello everyone !!!

I had my AOS interview this morning at Santa Clara immigration office, we went in half an hour before the hour scheduled , went through security smoothly ( you can keep your phone with you in silent mode )

Then we checked in inside , directed to the waiting area and asked to wait till be called , after like 10 min a gentle USC man in his fortys called us , greetd and accompanied us too his office, before sitting down we took the oath , first rondom question to my wife-USC- ( he asked looking at her ) how did we meet??

Has she visited my country?

How does she communicate with my family?

My prents names?

( then looking at both of us ) have we ever been married b4?

Any kids?

Asked about my job in Spain?

How long been living there?

My Wife'work?

Asked my wife if iam under her inssurance policy?

Asked my wife about my birthday ?

Asked her about my phone number ?

Asked me about where we live?

With who?

Asked if iam working ?

All yes/no questiones already answered on the I-485 form

Finally he went through my passport and asked when i entred US , place , and if ever traveled abroad since , he also asked about my layovers when i came to the US.

The only piece of paper he asked for was our birth and marriage certificates (strange) i took everything i have , i think he saw all the paperes we had in hand that is why!!!!

The IO was not too formal , we made jokes about nearly everything we talked about .

Finally he handed us a paper stating that we got interviewed by him and told us that everything looks good so far and mentioned that our case will be held for review and explained the removing conditions process.

@Younes-Maria - good luck! let us know how it goes. Will you let me know if they keep any of the docs you bring? im wondering if i should bring personal momentos ive saved over the years (cards, ticket stubs, etc) which cant necessarily be copied. i dont want them to keep them!

The only thing the IO kept was a copy of marriage certificate , you never know what will they ask to see , so better take what you have just in case !!! Good luck all.

He kept a copy of my wife's birth certificate and that was it. Gave back our marriage certificate, all our photos, etc.

I was shocked with how quick and laid back it was, like his decision was made before he even met us. Maybe we just did really good with filing the paperwork

@Fazm83 .... did they keep any of the documents you brought? Im considering brings cards and some momentos ive saved over the years, things which can't necessarily be copied so I'm wondering if they'll want to keep them?

Maybe you should call your field office and see if you need to set one up. Have you gotten your interview letter telling what date it will be on?

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Hi everyone,

Just got off the phone to USCIS about a I-131 AP query. Whilst on the phone i asked about my I-485 as there had been no updates since notification of them receiving an RFE on Nov 2nd. I asked the person if my case was still at the N.V.C. as i had not received any notifications that my case had been transferred to my local office(Denver  ). He said it would have been automatically transferred to my local office. He then said Denver are processing cases received on 28th jan 2015 and as i filed in Sept 2015 the current estimate for a G.C. interview would be Nov 2016.

I read that sometimes cases don't get sent to a local office and the interview can be waived.....

Has anyone experienced not getting a notification on their case being transferred and does Denver always interview or do some get the interview waived ? Thanks for any answers

Got my I-485 Approved today , good luck to the rest of the team , i have a planned trip in 2 weeks , as the IO told me in the interview once i am approved my AP wont be valid for re-entry & will not likely have my GC before my travel day, so once i receive the approval notice in the mail i 'll need to go back to the immigration office to get I551 stamp .

thanks everyone for being helpful & sharing their stories .

We had our interview at the Chicago office yesterday. Arrived at 10:15 for an 11:15 appointment. Got called back at about 12:00.

The officer was nice, quiet.

She swore us in. Asked us all the 485 and 130 questions.

She reviewed our birth certificates and parents info. Asked our names and birthdays.

She then asked questions about our wedding and if we are going to have a reception in the future. We had a courthouse wedding and are planning a more traditional wedding but have nothing planned yet.

She asked how we met and we told her our story.

She asked if there was any other info we wanted to submit which we hadn't already. We had a huge binder but she only took some additional insurance and financial documents.

She explained the ROC and Citizenship info for later down the road. She then told us if she needed any further info we would get a request in writing. She said it could take up to 120 days to hear about our approval.

That was it. All in all it was about 10-15 minutes. I'm really bummed we weren't approved on the spot.

Has anyone had to wait long after their interview to hear? Most things on here I've read that even if they weren't approved on the spot, the update came on the app quickly thereafter.

I'm so over waiting for everything!!

Hi all! So frustrated...... I can slap USCIS!!!! Here is our story. We were scheduled to have my husband's AOS interview 12/17 but the genius' cancelled it. well, even online to date still says that as of 11/22. Anyhow, with no status updates I checked the mail and a darn letter came from freaking IDAHO application support center??!!! how the heck did our papers get to ID and why???!!! ugghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Then, says he needs to submit a copy of his original birth certificate in English (He did this already idiots duh! and what language would it be in he's British!!!!) Also, says he needs to submit medical examination form I-693 and supplemental form I-693 immunizations.... hello... did they not get that when they took that huge packet from him when he entered the country that SHOULD have been filed to USCIS? someone please help me understand so that he can get this done. luckily, he is traveling in England right now so he can hopefully get it done there and it would be MUCH cheaper than over here in the U.S. He is traveling on his adv parole. Then they have the nerve to say has to be submitted within 30 days... smh!

to my reply above, Does that mean he needs to do a medical all over again and resubmit his immunization record? That is So stupid when clearly they are the ones that have the huge envelope with everything in it.
