Shocker00 You souls go to your original interview just in case! We was talking about this topic some days ago, better show up than get your green card denied because of them saying you fail to show up at the interview.

Good luck

I'm in Georgia and I went to renew my drivers license with my passport (I entered on the visa waiver program) EAD, SSN card and proof of address and was told I couldn't renew until I come in with a green card. Their reasoning being my status is C09 i.e. my status is yet to be determined and since I've run out of my 90 day stay under the visa waiver I cannot renew my license. I've read a lot about it and it looks like I just have to wait it out. But I must say folks at the driver services are so ignorant and rude ?

My husband received his combo card today. (Finally!) We were anxious to get it, not only so he can get to working soon, but because we want to travel together :) Time to book some flights :-)

Congrats to everyone! :star:

Sorry for that...I was able to renew my driver license for one year with my EAD and SSN in Nebraska. The guy here is cool and quite. My GC is on the way.

I am very happy for my wife. Today she was approved for her Green Card. I am so amazed because we were preparing for at least a year long journey. What also amazed me was she was approved without an interview. No notice that interview was waived. Truly excited and amazed.

Congrats!!! Did you do a K1 first???

Congrats!!! Did you do a K1 first???

I did.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

I'm also in Georgia and my husband had a similar experience. They told him he had to have a valid unexpired document. His visa expired back in September so as far as they could tell, he doesn't have proof of status. They advised to come back when he has his EAD in hand so he can show the dates that it is valid for.

Are you saying that you already have your EAD and they still wouldn't let you get the license renewed?

Yes I have my EAD in hand with my SSN card, my passport and two proof of address. The funny thing is on the GA dmv website they state and I 766 which the EAD is is an acceptable form to proof legal residency but they will not hear nothing of it. My case was referred and the investigator told me I'm not eligible to have a GA license until I have GC in hand. I'm so frustrated but I'm trying not to stress out ???

That's kinda crazy of them. I feel like they don't understand immigration at all so they are just inclined to say no. Hope you can get the Green Card soon or you live in a more commutable area than me lol the transportation here is very poor.
