Has anyone had an RFE? If so, how long after sending it back did you receive your EAD/AP?

I received an RFE around the same time as the biometrics appointment. It was for my foreign birth certificate which had to be mailed to me by my dad, so took a little while to respond too. I'm expecting to hear something any day now, currently on day 69 since my NOA (09/24/15), RFE received (10/16), replied (10/27) confirmed (11/04). My biometrics was on 10/20 so really hoping to hear something this week.

Thank you America, this is very helpful. I was feeling left behind by all those getting the travel authorization thinking we missed something. we really do not have an emergency reason to travel.

Good luck to you an all

@Elprofe

I also didn't get any email that my EAD/AP got approved. I just have the USCIS app where I typed in my receipt numbers and it's updating my status consistently.

But if you did not apply for AP then you'll probably only receive your EAD.

AP is only for emergencies and you have to explain yourself at the interview why you left the country (don't use it for 'I just want to visit my family '). I guess you have to wait until your papers are approved (green card) and then you can travel outside the country.

My I-765 was updated to "New Card is Being Produced" but my I-131 AP is still showing as "Case Was Received"

I am concerned that we are going to get an EAD without AP. Can anybody advise if this is something I should be worried about?

I'm surprise you haven't heard anything! You're just right behind my wife in terms of the time lines. My wife just got her EAD card this pass Monday. Hopefully you'll hear something back sooner than later..

Jobenpez I think your interview will be in January remember that we have the Holidays going on, I was lucky to be schedule in the beginning of December because I know other couples that had interview dates for the middle of December got canceled with no new date. So hang in there and positive vibes!

So I had my I-485 interview yesterday 12/03/15.

The interview was schedule for 12:30. We arrive 11:00 am including 35 minutes drive and breakfast . The west palm building was empty, only 2 couples with lawyers and my hubby didn't want to sit near them he wanted to be in the back of the room. But then I realized a huge sign that said INTERVIEWS with sits like airport type so I told my hubby we needed to change seats. At 12 pm it got really full and loud with couples and lawyers, I got nervous as only 3 couples including us didn't have a lawyer and one of this couple had 2 kids with them. The numbers was called but not in order. Until 1:45 they called our number . Our IO was middle age, very soft spoken he was the only one who wanted the door open, I notice all the other doors with couples and lawyers had their door closed. He made us swear before taking a seat. He open our file and asked my husband if he was born abroad I showed him the birth certificate and copy but said he didn't need it. He ask for our passports and I also showed him my EAD card. He ask my husband his name and if was working in the same place and then he asked him how he met me. But my hubby gave a very short answer so I jumped in and give a more detail answer. I told him I felt intimidated by not having a lawyer but he told me that only we know our story no lawyer can explain how the relationship evolved and some get up to 5 RFE with lawyer and we manage to get none without a lawyer so I was optimistic. He asked me my parents name, if our joint sponsor was my hubby dad and if I lost a passport and I told him yes I did in 2010 and explain him how it happened. He asked me the yes, No questions of the I-485 and the said he was going to approve the I-130 I offer him the documents I prepare for the interview but he didn't wanted them, he said I send enough documents, he didn't want to see the photo Album. Then he asked me if I knew the next step because my marriage was less than 2 years and I answer I knew I had to fill the I-751 and he said yes, and told me if after 3 years of permanent residence in the US I'm still married to my hubby I can apply for naturalization instead of waiting for 5 years. And he said that tomorrow when he have more time he will review our case but he was most likely going to approve us. My hubby thank him and he escorted us out, we was talking about visiting Disney as our anniversary is the 9th of December but to Epcot and he said he doomed to go to the magic kingdom because he have small children's. I'm very grateful to this site and specially to God for a nice IO. Today my status show card is being produced.

Good luck to every one✌️
