So does the "ready to schedule interview" status change on the I-130 or the I-485 receipt? I have like four receipt numbers right now that I keep checking the status for...

FYI my husband had his biometrics appointment 6 days ago. So that means we should see a change in the status sometime this week, correct?

It's my understanding it would be your I-485 that would change the status.

It's been weeks (Oct 21) since my wife did her biometrics and her status hasn't changed since then.

The change is in the I-485 for "ready for interview" or "interview Scheduled" . Is my understanding that if you file an I-130 (K1 visas don't need to file this) the status will not update because they take decision for I-130 and I -485 in the same interview that's the reason on AOS when you are inside the US you have the option of file "concurrently" but you can get updates on EAD and AP.

Hi all! Just got word that my husband last week was scheduled for interview and was approved for EAD + travel permit but, question, if he does well at interview does that mean he gets his greencard? Also, that is rather quick since we filed early September so, did we do something wrong?

Hi EN I don't think it's bad, rather a good news. The next step should be you receiving you NOA with your interview date. Congrats for the approval on EAD and travel permit☺ Edited by jobenpez1

awesome thank you all for your replies! However, my husband is due to fly this Sunday ( he bought this ticket prior to leaving England to return and take care of some stuff) of which i asked why would you do such not knowing your travel permission status... yes things moved quickly surprisingly and gratefully but he thinks although he is approved he can leave without parole in hand. i have tried and tried to tell him if he does so he can forfeit everything. am i telling him correctly or can he leave since he is approved and i mail him the advance parole? Alos, they are ready to schedule his interview but we don't have a date yet can that take a long time?

If he leaves his case will be considered abandoned and therefore everything will be cancelled even the approved advanced parole. Why take a risk? Better he wait to have the advance parole in hand before he leaves, the interview will be scheduled anytime since they already ready. When he received the advance parole and travel he can come back without problems when you have the interview date

The person we spoke with at uscis said he can travel since it has been approved but will need it to re-enter . Seeing that it was a tier 1 not sure if I trust that person .. However I Denver her name . My sister works for the FBI and she says everything is recorded so, that person will be held accountable is she gave false information and I have her ID number and name

E-N I really advice you to better be sure that sorry.

Its better that you convince your husband to wait to have the AP in hand to travel, why risk the time, effort and money you both invested into this whole process?

Remember he will have to pass CBP to enter the US again and you dont want to have problems like not having the AP in hand.

better wait a few more days to be sure.

good luck

i have been reading others's Vj's same topic ( travelling without AP while AOS pending ) and the answer is to not travel without advance of parole in hand , as it will be considered he abondended his AOS , as you mentioned before he has AP & EAD approved , you must receive it anytime , Do not risk it .

good luck .

I would really consider and think hard before he gambles and leave the US without his AP on hand. Sure, I understand that he needs to get things in order at his home country, but the way I look at it is that, if none of his family member(s) is dying or in some type of family emergency in dire need, I would stay put. Remember that his K-1 visa states that it's only ONE ENTRY. You leave without your AP on hand, it can and may complicate your AOS.

If nothing goes through your husband's tick skull, I hope and pray that your FBI sister is correct and that the USCIS agent who took your call provided you with the correct information. I'm just not sure why he'd go through the waiting process to get his K-1 and then go through the AOS process and then be impatient in the end and risk it all. Not worth the risk IMHO. Let's hope you get the AP soon before he leaves!

Hello all just thought I would join and post my experience so far since I have been reading and using this forum for information for months.

My wife came here on a b2 visitor visa.

Married 05-16-2015

09-01-2015: 130/485/765 mailed

09-08-2015: receipt issued for all 3 forms

09-11-2015: received hard copies in the mail

09-22-2015: letter for biometrics appointment for 10-06-15

09-25-2015: received rfe for missing 2014 tax information

10-06-2015: completed biometrics only took about 20-25 minutes

10-13-2015: Rfe received and working on case again

10-21-2015: 485 ready to be scheduled for an interview

Nothing since then. Would be really nice to get the ead card approved as my wife is going crazy sitting at home all day and wants to get out and work lol.

P.S. Filed at Chicago lockbox from Phoenix Arizona
