I really dont know if it does speed the process or not , but walk in and try does worth it if you can not show up the appt day .

Hi everyone, I filed i485 and 765 on Sept 15, already got my biometric done on Oct 6. I'm in Indiana but my biometric was in Louisville, KY. The lady had to try getting my fingerprints several times as she said my fingerprints are very washed out. She said it's probably because I work with water too much, but I also think because my hands just get watery and cold in cold weather. She said I might get a notice for repeat biometric if this one doesn't go through.

For everyone who already got their biometric done, did you get notified when the fingerprints are "approved"? Appreciate any info.

Thank you

Seems weird that they say you'll have it in 10 days but you need to speak to a supervisor... maybe you or your husband should give them another call to clear things and the next steps... i wonder why they need to call you again... keep us posted :)

I was finally able to talk to USCIS with my husband and we got the receipt numbers. The lady said our receipt notice was mailed to us two weeks ago but we kept telling her we never got it. So she put in a service request to send another one or something. When I checked the status online now it says we were sent an RFE letter yesterday. :/ I hope it's something simple. I'm just hoping this letter gets to us.

Oh wow. Am sorry about the rfe. But its a good thing, that means they are working on your case. Hopefully the rfe is just about something simple. :)

I have almost the same timeline as you do. But my boimetrics appointment is set on 14th, that is, tomorrow. I got a notice over the phone about RFE on Oct 5th, so there's no point for me to do an early walk in either (not that I planned to--I live in Rochester, but the appointment is all the way in Buffalo...). Anyways, what annoys me so much is that it's been 10 days and I still haven't got the hard copy of the RFE. Why can't they release the info about what's needed through the phone app too?! At least that way I can start preparing the documents they need! Sigh..

It is definitely annoying that they have this online functionality to check on the status of your case but does not give you much details. They would rather waste stamps and kill more trees and send their notices via snail mail. At the same time, I can understand why they don't supply the information online because a person can randomly look at someone else's CASE Numbers and see the status of their case. They should make this private instead of public so they can expand on the functionality. I don't understand why we need to wait 10 days. That's worst then snail mail which typically takes about 3-4 days.

I've been checking the online status non stop since you posted that you got an rfe. So far no updates on my case. Crossing my fingers that i wont get an rfe...

I hope you don't get one because it's the worst annoying thing that can happen because now everything is on hold. By the time we get the notice and respond to and for them to receive it, we're looking at 3-4 weeks waste of time.

Sorry that you got an RFE. Keep us posted on what it is and I'll do the same.

My husband had his biometrics appt today (scheduled for 3:00pm but we decided to arrive early at 2:00pm). The place was empty and the officer at the desk stamped his Appointment notice and gave him a demographics form to sign. We sat and waited about 10 minutes until the employee that does the biometrics came back from his break. My husband gave him his passport, NOA, and completed demographics form, then he had his fingerprints done and then his picture taken (this took about 10 minutes). The employee then gave him a service satisfaction survey to fill out and that was everything. The Appointment notice and the demographics sheet were given back to my husband :) So far, so good.

Best wishes to everyone!

I'm a bit shocked by how quickly we've been scheduled. I wonder if it's because we've been married 6 years and have a kid?
