I honestly cannot say if it does or it doesn't. However, if you read other post in June, July, and August, others are saying that they do a wake-in wees or days before their appointment. Does it make a difference, I am not sure. I have read some where that they got their card sooner rather than later. So who knows. I hope someone would chime in and shed some light on this. It's definitely a good question.

If you are close by or have a day off, why not just walk in once you have your letter. I am not sure why they have the letter other than to verify that you do have an application being processed. It would be nice if they can make everything electronic. For example once you filed and they accept your case send the letter with a generic date say go to the biometrics appointment by such date or you have 45 days from this date to get your biometrics done. They can send it via text or email. But that is wishful thinking, haha!

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Well the only time off i have right now is a day before my appt so i am sure it will not make a diff to my timeline at all. Lol. But a week before your appt... well... thats a week off your timeline if there is really an effect if you do the biometrics early.

coa24 - I am definitely not far from the center. I'm about 30 mins or less away from it. I was hoping to get it done this Monday, but realized that it's a holiday. So I will have to wait until Wednesday to get it done since I work from home. I definitely agree with you that we have enough technology to notify people on their case and/or appointments. It would have been easier and faster if they would just email it with encrypted mail and/or text. This would cut down on paper waste and cost to mail each letter. As you say, this is all wishful thinking. I do hope in the near future that they would embrace the technology and make the process much easier, simpler and faster.

Agreed! If we can cut down the timeline, why not take advantage of it :)

We have similar timeline but we have yet to receive anything regarding my wife's biometrics. I have been following July, August and Sept forums and it's definitely inconsistent with these notices and appointments. Kind of frustrating since we are hopeless and all we can do is wait and pray that our case gets worked on... (just venting) But Congrats btw!

Hey I saw your timeline and you finally got the biometrics letter congrats ☺

Surprisingly enough, we received my wife's BIOMETRICS appointment today scheduled for Oct 21 in Elizabeth, NJ. We're going to attempt to go next week and see what happens. God is good

Congrats! Does going early for the biometrics speed the process ?

Thank you! I don't know if it does or doesn't. But if you read June, July and August forums and posts, people say they go days before their appointment. Not sure if it buys you time to process your AOS faster, but I guess it doesn't hurt to go sooner than your appointment. I will post this question at other forums and see what they say...

Biometrics letter received today , dated 19th October . will someone walk in before the appointment day??

Congrats!

I am going to attempt to go a week before.

We are June filers with biometrics on July 16. Received approval for green card on Sept 30 and no interview required. Never received our EAD/AP because they knew we would get the green card soon enough. We didn't get any word on this; so you have to wait. But for us, the wait wasn't that long when considering we had our green card within 3 1/2 months of NOA1 date. Hang in there September filers. Have faith.

I still didn't get my receipt notice for AOS. The package arrived on 9/25 and they cashed the check. I am having trouble calling with my husband because of work schedule and him not having a phone. Any other way we could get this receipt notice? I called the back about the check but that didn't work out either.

Am sorry, you must be very worried. Only way to find out what happened to your NOA hardcopies is to call them... but they will give you the 30 days spiel since it hasnt been a month yet. Call once the 30 days is up and tell them you didnt receive anything in the mail. Goodluck!
