I LOVE to read and up until Christmas, couldn't remember the last book I read 'just for fun'. My 12-yr old daughter loves animals and wants to breed/train horses when she grows up so, for Christmas, I bought her the book All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot. I remember having read this book as a child and absolutely loved it. I've since bought the rest of the series for her as a birthday gift, but we have started reading aloud together, a few chapters every night... and it's been wonderful.

Just wondered what some of you are reading, and why.....

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I usually read John Grisham but I decided I'd change it up a bit so I just finished reading True Believer by Nicholas Sparks. It was very different from John Grisham but very good also. It was a little slow at the beginning but once I got into it I loved it. The ending was especially nice. I would definitely recommend it to someone else to read.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Right now I'm almost finished with "The Kite Runner".

It's very good, but really sad :(

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."

Most of what I read now is simply for that "switch off" at night. Currently reading "High Five" by Janet Evanovich.

I don't have to concentrate much, it's funny, I like the character and it's not badly written. I like a good thriller/mystery crime book.

I did all the heavy reading a few years ago and just can't be bothered anymore. Too much hard work!

Body of Secrets, by James Bamford.

Anatomy of the Ultra-Secret NSA.

Some truth within, yet many inaccuracies.

Nevertheless, an interesting read.

I used to read all of Clancy and his derivatives but recently I got hooked on David Baldacci (Camel Club, End Game), Vince Flynn and Catherine Coulter.

YMMV
