Crossing fingers for you. Was a guy on another forum who was in AP for something like 7 months and got approved right at the end of the FY. Hoping you get good news in the next few weeks.

7 months oh my GOD! I passed the medical examination on April 28, based on my knowled they calculate Visa expiration date based on that, is it they ask for retaking the exam, if you remember SusieQQQ some one in the forum posted a question few months ago, that when he enter USA they asked him for retaking the medical exam because it exceeded 6 months.

You have to enter the US within 6 months of obtaining the visa to "activate" it. You then have a year from this date date of first entry where you can come and go as you please (to get your affairs sorted out). You must make a permanent move before the end of this year; so ultimately you can delay moving for about about 18 months if you need to (but you MUST enter for the first time before the date on the visa).

I had my medical much too early (2 months or so before I received my appointment letter). I realised after that this would affect the date of initial entry into the US and re-did the medical.

If I had used the first medical I would have had to enter the US for the first time in April 2015; redoing it allowed me to enter in July 2015 instead, so I "bought" myself an extra 3 months by re-doing it...an expensive mistake on my part.

I am not an expert (and anyone please feel free to correct me) but in your case (with a medical in April) if you receive your visa in September you may have to enter the US for the first time within a month (rather than 6 months) or possibly even re-take it.

yes that's what i thought, even you medical exam expired they will allow you to enter to USA but you won't get your green card until you re-take the exam in USA (expensive I think)
