I'm also at the Fairfax Field office in VA. Why did it take 3 months from your Fprints to your interview letter??? That's a long time!

I think it's normal time, since the average time for the whole N-400 process is about 6 months. I applied September, done in Feb, which means 5 months.

Some people were lucky somehow and got everything done sooner.

And another reason I think is because of the Winter Break at the end of the year.

Fairfax/DC is a crowded area, maybe that's the ultimate reason.

AS of today my case status is still "Interview has been scheduled", been 10 days since my interview and no update

Apologies, I have been meaning to update this for a while. I finally got my interview letter through in early January, with an interview date of 02/09/16, which I passed without issue, and I have my oath tomorrow, 02/18/16. A couple of points to note: they didn't ask to see any of the supporting documents I took with me, such as my wife's birth certificate, or our marriage certificate etc. Interview started with civics question, I got the first 6 right, so we stopped there. Then went through the form, focusing on the yes/no questions. Lady was very nice, friendly, overall a very positive experience. She then told me she was recommending me for approval, and asked me to go back to the waiting room for 30-45 minutes, and then they would bring me my oath letter, since there was a ceremony the following week. I"m not sure if they always give you the oath letter in Houston, or if they only do that when the interview is in close proximity to an oath ceremony. Either way, I waited about 45 minutes and then a guy called out my name, and gave me the oath letter, along with a directions sheet.

I'll post more after oath tomorrow. :dancing:

I took my oath yesterday, Feb 18th, and am now a U.S. Citizen. Thanks to all on here.

I guess it also depends on your field office.

They asked me for all the cards the USCIS issued to me: employment authorization, 2-year green card, 10-year green card. I only brought the last one, so the officer gave me a green envelope to mail them anything I left at home. Then I would wait for them to process the USCIS letter for the oath ceremony. After some time, the officer called me to the window to verify the information on the certificate of citizenship and another paper about your information. Once everything is correct, he told me to go to the hall and wait with other people. I wait for like an hour or so, then they started the ceremony. It was an amazing experience. Then I had to rush to work.

Now I need to apply for the passport.

Hello all,

I had previously been waiting since my FP back in Oct for an inline notification. My status persistently said that USCIS had received my N400 application on Sept23rd and that I'm top await further notifications.

I just saw that my online status changed to the following on Feb 19th

On February 19, 2016, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*00****. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.

Can anyone verify if this actually means that my interview has already been scheduled? Or is this a standard in line for interview notification?
