  • 01-05-2012: NOA2 (184 days since NOA1)
  • 01-13-2012: NVC passed
  • 01-19-2012: Embassy received our case
  • 02-14-2012: Interview PASSED! :D K-1 Visa Approved! :D
  • 03-08-2012: POE
  • 04-07-2012: Wedding!

AOS/EAD Timeline (04.26.2012 - 12.13.2012)

  • 04-26-2012: I-485 and I-765 sent to Chicago Lockbox
  • 05-02-2012: NOA1 (both I-485 and I-765)
  • 05-23-2012: Biometrics taken
  • 07-02-2012: Employment Authorization Issued (07-09-2012 - received in the mail)

Interview was done today! Approved! Thanks for all the advice and tips here

Pretty standard interview:

1. Swore the oath to tell the truth

2. She started verifying my information on the form - name, address, do we live in the same house with spouse, address, travel (I let her know I traveled after i submitted the application and she added that on the form)

3. Then all the Yes/No questions - be careful when you are answering these questions because you dont want to say Yes when you meant to say No especially because the questions transition from the Yes to the No without warning

4. Without warning, she moved into the Civics questions. She asked me 6 questions which I got right. The qustions were pretyped on a piece of paper (rather than a computer screen as i have seen mentioned elsewhere)

- If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

- What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment

- During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States

- Who is the Head of the Executive

- There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

- What is one reason colonists came to America?

5. After that she kept on writing and checking off things on the forms. Also asked me to write "California has the most people" down on a sheet of paper

6. Then she asked me for my 2014 tax return - which I didnt print along. I didnt want to waste paper and I also thought since I had submitted the tax transcripts that would suffice- all of which i explained to her

7. She then had me verify and sign a form with my name on it and i knew i had been approved. Few mins later, the magic words came out! Congratulations, I am recommending you!

03/14/11 - Email and Text notification received from USCIS
03/14/11 - Checks cashed by USCIS (got notification from bank on 03/15/11)
03/18/11 - NOA1 received in the mail (all four of them)
03/26/11 - Biometrics received for 04/20 (postmarked 03/23)
04/20/11 - Biometrics done today!
05/09/11 - Got my EAD in the mail today!!!
05/16/11 - Interview letter received for 06/20!!!
06/20/11 - Interview done, APPROVED! 2 year Green Card!

4/27/13 - I-751 Package for ROC mailed

4/29/13 - I-751 Package delivered by USPS to VSC

5/12/13 - NOA in the mail (dated 4/30/13)

Congrats to all of you who passed your interview! My question is,is it possible to get an interview letter without change of status?

There are some members who have reported receiving their interview letters and other even completed their Oath ceremonies too without any change with the online updates! So yes it is possible.
