N-400 September 2015 filers

Hello all,

I had previously been waiting since my FP back in Oct for an inline notification. My status persistently said that USCIS had received my N400 application on Sept23rd and that I'm top await further notifications.

I just saw that my online status changed to the following on Feb 19th

Can anyone verify if this actually means that my interview has already been scheduled? Or is this a standard in line for interview notification?

That is the notification you get when your interview has been scheduled. They may have placed you inline and then quickly updated your status again when the interview was scheduled, or they may have skipped the inline step. Either way, you should expect your interview letter soon and an interview sometime in late March or early April.

That's exactly what happened to me. You should receive the letter in the mail this week with time and date for your interview. Mine also took 3.5 months to be scheduled.

Had my interview in Houston yesterday.

My appointment was at 7:55am, I got there at 8:01am. Yikes! It hasn't rained in one month here and the one day I need traffic to be smooth it rains heavily and traffic freaks out... Luckily they didn't care when I checked in. Phew!

I waited for a little over 1 hour. IT had apparently just updated something so now everything was running slower/not working so they were running behind. My interview took maybe 15-20 minutes. I was out by 9:30am.

I was asked the following questions

1. What is the name of the national anthem?

2. What is the voting age?

3. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

4. What is rule of law?

5. What ocean is on the west coast?

6. What happened on Sep 11, 2001?

And to read

How many Senators do we have?

And to write

We have one hundred Senators.

The lady interviewing me said that they now want to see everyone's birth certificate, unless you are from a handful of countries but I can remember which once she said were excluded... I did not submit mine with the citizen application so I got a little nervous but I apparently did with my green card application (diversity visa) so they had it on file. Phew again!

I got a small slap on the wrist for not updating my drivers license the 4 times I've moved since getting it... I had to provide proof that I was indeed living where I say I lived and not in Austin as my license said. I had brought my tax return for 2015 with my current address on it and that was proof enough.

We went through my application and made a few changes as I had joined a professional organization and some other minor things.

Then I heard the magical words "I recommend you for approval"! I asked if she knew when the oath was going to be as I have some travel for work coming up. She said the next ceremony is on March 30th though she can't guarantee that is the date I will get but that it is likely. Now on to the last and final wait!

So I already had interview on 2/9 and my case was recommended for approval. But last week I received a letter from my local office Requesting for Evidence. They ask me for stuff to prove the bona fide marriage. They asked for our joint 2015 tax return but I haven't filed yet so I don't have anything to give them. All i sent was a lease for the apartment we are living in and some recent bank statements.

I'm worried. Why did they ask for this now? I thought I already went through everything when I filed my i-751. Do I really have to go through everything again?

If you are applying based on 3 years of marriage to a USC, then you have to prove that you are still living in marital union with that USC spouse.

Most people take this evidence with them to the interview in case they are asked about it. The I-751 was a separate issue; they want to know about your marriage now.

Since they specifically asked for your 2015 return, I suggest you file it now and send a copy.

If you can't file now, then send them a letter explaining that you're not ready to file... they may accept that or they may just put your application on hold until you do file in April.

Send in copies of anything you can think of to prove your marriage is still "real"... basically, everything you did for I-751 but updated with more recent information. They may not need all this, but better give them more than they need than get another RFE.

My Application is now been approved,Anyone here had their interview in Fargo ND?I was told by the IO that,the oath ceremony in Fargo takes months or even a year to be scheduled,I don't want to wait this long,is there anything i can do to make it a bit fast?

I received my oath letter in the mail yesterday. My interview is scheduled for March 1

So I already had interview on 2/9 and my case was recommended for approval. But last week I received a letter from my local office Requesting for Evidence. They ask me for stuff to prove the bona fide marriage. They asked for our joint 2015 tax return but I haven't filed yet so I don't have anything to give them. All i sent was a lease for the apartment we are living in and some recent bank statements.

I'm worried. Why did they ask for this now? I thought I already went through everything when I filed my i-751. Do I really have to go through everything again?
