This is mass migration, the vast majority are heading for benefit land.

Why now?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

The door is open

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I guess we'll just gave to trust that the immigration authorities know what they're doing and can sift genuine from fraudulent applications.

The issue isn't whether Europe should help Syrian refugees, it's how much we should help.

They have such an assume track record. If it was just a few Syrians that may be doable, it is not.

Deal with the small issue now or all hell will break loose later. I prefer the first.

Munich all over again

The door is open

the door was opened with a bomb blast.

The U.N. counts 15 new conflicts in the past five years, and the big one is Syria. More than 11 million Syrians have fled or been driven from their homes in that country's civil war since it started in 2011.

Then there's the Islamic State surge in Iraq, where 3 million people have been displaced since January 2014.

Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Libya, Nigeria and other countries are wracked by war or insurgency. Many people are also fleeing Eritrea, a country that's not at war but that is run by a repressive regime.

Some settle in new countries or find new places even in their own countries. But many can't do either. Turkey and Lebanon, for example, have taken in around 3 million Syrian refugees between them. But both have restrictive laws keeping the refugees from earning a living. So, many are on the move.

Yeah.... And the solution that appears to be being touted here by our resident humanitarians who will stop short of saying it - is to not let anyone in at all.

LIB appears to have already convinced himself that the majority of asylees are terrorists in disguise so nothing should be done but "don't come crying if stuff gets blown up".

I have to say, basic humanity appears to sadly lacking on this topic.
