It’s the least the Arabs could do for their fellow Arabs.

Why should these poor Arabs have to live under the oppressive thumb of white racist Europeans when their Arab brothers have plenty of money to put them up in the Arab world?

A single small Arab country has over a quarter of a trillion dollars to spend on an absurd vanity project, but Europeans must take in every Arab in the world who wants to move to Europe (and, in time, all their kinsmen)?

Don't you think that Arab neighbors need to step up to the plate and deal with their Muslim brothers. Why do white Christian folks need to bear the burden of this problem . Plenty of money in the Arab world . Plenty of space that is vacant .

I think a passing familiarity with the sectarian divisions in the Arab world would negate the need for such a question.

Incidentally, this isn't an "Arab crisis" it's a human crisis. The photo of the drowned three year old doing the rounds of the world's news media should have illustrated that point pretty well - without the need for pot stirring commentators adding their pointless 2 cents worth of inane garbage.

Everyone has a responsibility to those people, not least the folks who set the events into motion that have caused it.

P.S. that would be the "blame bush" part of the post.

Bush and Blair caused this, made their millions and have retired in comfort. People continue to die for their spurious geopolitics. Others now have to clean up their mess.

If you care that much about these refugees, get involved yourself.

Personally I think the Syrian refugee crisis is worth a few swear words, especially when others use news stories arising from it for their personal entertainment and gratification.

Yesterday The Independent carried a heart breaking photo of a drowned 3-year old lying face down on a Turkish beach. Everyone should see that photo, except on here i guess where it would probably be removed.

Nothing to do with Syria, the photo was taken off Bodrum in southern Turkey.

I have been on Holiday to Bodrum, admittedly a few years ago, still a very popular holiday destination for Brits. For those with a classical education Bodrum is ancient Halicarnassus. Many invasions have passed through that area over the centuries.

To put it in a US context it would be like a body being washed up off say Cancun where the person had emanated from say Honduras.
