USC's can avail themselves to a locker for electronics when they enter the Embassy through the USC entrance door. Filipino applicants (there for the interview) are not allowed electronic devices. See the official statement below.

If you can leave your phone with a family member, USC fiancé or in a safety box at the hotel, you would be better served with any of those accommodations. Last resort is a vendor on the street who will keep the phone for you for a small fee. I myself would not trust that plan.

Electronic Devices Not Permitted on Embassy Grounds

For the safety and security of all applicants and employees, visa applicants are NOT PERMITTED to bring the following into the Embassy:

•any kind of electronic and battery-operated devices (mobile phone, digital camera, laptop, music player, portable game consoles such as PSP, USB thumb drive, mobile tablet, etc.)

•lighter and any flame-generating device

•sharp objects

•any device with an On/Off switch

Applicants who bring such devices will be denied entry and will be requested to book a new interview appointment.

Please make arrangements to leave your electronic equipment in a safe location off Embassy grounds BEFORE your interview appointment. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation.

Yes. The U.S. guard from the embassy security would take it and attach an ID you give to him so he would give it back to you when you exit.

Unless something has changed, only USC's are allowed to store any electronics. May I ask where you are getting your information from as I am curious and would like to learn if this policy has changed. Is this your recent experience?

The last time I was there, June 2015, this was done to me (an American citizen btw). This was my first and only time,.

Just before getting scanned they asked me for my iPhone and I handed to them. Then they asked for an ID and I handed to them my US driver's license.

Now, the person who kept the phone for me was dressed as security. I don't think the embassy would employ a USC guard when somebody enters the embassy though?

So, if it's different for a non US citizen .. then things might be different?

Do they allow a USC guard to take your stuff... I have no clue.

In hind sight, I might not take anything with me this time thu.

Theres no locker nor the guard will keep your phone. The vendors will.I went there last week to supposedly require for embassy letter and i forgot to leave my phone at home. The guard won't let me in and said to let the vendors outside to keep it for me and i have to pay them 200 pesos. So i did:)

Its better to leave your phone at home or let the vendors keep it for you.

I understand your experience was, as the applicant interviewee, but what was your experience for USC?

As a USC, I was able to leave my phone and a USB with the USC side of security which was also Zanby's experience.

Thanks for the info. As I see it from your experience nothing has changed. USC can leave electronics when they enter the USC side and interviewee's are required to not enter with any electronics. Your answer helps as I see nothing has changed with the official policy and what is being followed.

I just had my interview today and they require to not bring cellphone absolutely. You can deposit your cp to vendors who sell ballpens, take pictures etc but i dont recommend it for safety reasons obvious reasons. I will share my interview questions when i get back to my province esp to F2B applicants.
