Good day everyone, so I and my grandma will be having our interview on sept. 23(my schedule) and 24(grandmas schedule) i have some few issues, we completed our documents already, as I review them...

1st- issue-> my grandma's middle name in her birth cert. is different to her daughter's(petitioner) birth certificate. for example

Grandmas name in her birth certificate : xxxxx sapasip xxxxx (sample only)

grandmas name in petitioner's birth cert : xxxxx maraya xxxxx (sample only)

other than that everythings alright except that middle name.

2nd issue-> my petitioner is my step father(USC), my mother's middle name is misspelled in her birth certificate but correct in my birth cert. example

Moms middle name in my birth cert : Feles(sample only)

moms middle name in her birth cert: Felis(sample only)

I dont know if this is an issue because my step father is the petitioner.

please help me :( i have hard time sleeping at night already ?

Hi! I don't want to discourage you but hopefully that may not a problem considering it's a legal document that's involved here. I have a friend who's on a K1 visa. Her mother's maiden name (MMN) had been misspelled on her birth certificate. Before even applying for the k1 visa, she had her MMN corrected with NSO which took about a year for the entire process. The worst that could happen is that the embassy may give you both a 221g. I hope you and your lola won't have to go thru the same thing. God speed!

If it were me, I would go to the interview and DON'T bring up the subject UNLESS you are asked by a CO. Then you should answer their questions with confidence and truthfulness. If you are delayed because they want a corrected copy then you can proceed with their instructions. Either way, you either do it now and delay your process or you go to the interview in the hopes it is missed, but if questioned about it you can explain truthfully your predicament. The most they will do is issue you a 221(g) and delaying the process while you repair the information.

Thank you! I think i will still risk going with the interview, i gathered all the supporting documents such as baptismal certificate, pictures from birth up to present etc. even the receipts and remittance just to prove our legitimate relationship and old copies documents, just in case for the worst to come. But i am at ease feeling that they wont be asking for it, they should have declined our application since the beginning if this issue is serious. What im holding right now is faith and trust with the Lord and answer all with all honesty.

Im leaving this stress and lifting it up, im asking for your prayers VJ FAMILY! God's Speed!!!
