My fiancee completed her interview Aug 26. I made sure she had the I-134, 2014 tax return, W2, and copy of pay stubs. They reviewed these forms and returned them to her. I didn't want to take any chances so she had everything just in case they asked for it.

It has been our experience that they have stopped taking the I-134 but, in the official Embassy document (quoted below) they still recommend having one on hand for the interview, in the event the CO needs additional information. If it were me, I would prepare that document and bring it along with what was contained in your posting above.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form may be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You may also be asked to submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

I for one will continue to recommend that you have the I-134 with you, along with the other employment and IRS requested documents till such time as they change the Embassy Letter. I don't want this to bite me in the behind, and cause someone to receive a 221(g) because of a recommendation not to have those documents.

The I-134 (with original signature), most recent tax return and W-2 are still listed as required in the embassy instructions letter. Don't show up without them is my suggestion

If he's on disability, he should be able to get a form that shows that. If his disability checks are above 125 percent of poverty, then the form that states he's on disability and his income from disability should work. I"m saying should, because it just seems logical to me. Others might have a better idea.

K-1 Application sent 2-16-16

Received at Dallas lockbox 2-18-16

NOA1, sent to California 2-23-16

NOA2 4-21-16

NVC shipped to Manila 5-12-16

Consulate received 5-16-16

The Embassy Letter does not ask for a "employment certificate", just I-134, W2, 2014 Tax Return, recent pay stubs.

Disability income does not count toward satisfying the income requirements. Social Security payments do.

If he can show just using is current employer that he meets or exceeds the poverty level guidelines, then no problem.

With USEM the employer letter is not needed (I only suggest having it if he is a new employee). No worries there not having it.

FedEx should easily have it there in a week or less.

Where did you read disability income is not accepted? New one on me. Even I have disability income ;)

I meant SSI cannot be used. Disability can. Others that can't are as follows:

Means Tested Public Benefits

Federal means tested public benefits are the following:

Food stamps

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Medicaid

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

State Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
