This sometimes happen. In most cases I have heard of they are in the process of scheduling an interview like you said. It's an annoying hurdle to jump over but not unheard of. Good luck! :)

I know.. it's minor fiddle but abit annoying since I have sent sufficent evidence. Wonder whether there are instances that they transfer just to process and get a final decision with no interview.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. No one can tell which way it will go but I have heard of transferred cases with no interview. However, the majority of posts I have read here that involved transferred cases also involved an interview.

Same thing happened to me. I have applied on 2/23 and my case was transferred to CA on 8/20. On 9/02 it was transferred to my local office. Someone else from the february thread has the same issue. Hoping for the best!

The same thing happened to me just 2 weeks ago! I called the National Number for Immigration and spoke to an agent and he " guaranteed" to me that its a STANDARD MESSAGE. He was very nice to me and basically told me that their system doesn't work as accurately as we think it does. He said that the " local office" refers to a change of processing center and some will get that message when the check the status of their case and some won't. He even gave to me an example of a situation that has been going on for years but they never changed, which is some people who apply for ROC as divorced, they still get a interview notice requiring the spouse to come with them.... so don't worry!

Thank you t1000 cause I was worried because my son receive a letter from ca that they receive the cause . And within less then a week we get that update online

I know right? Let's really pray not to be at a local office because the last thing we want is to be in an interview room with those people judging us, although being at a local office doesn't necessarily means interview! My attorney told me that all cases removed from VT should be originally sent to their respective local offices to help them out but they still send to another processing center. Even my attorney telling me about that confusion in online messages and letters I still called the national number.

I am really praying For my son he is the dependent child who is 18 yrs old who is removing his condition I already have my 10 yr card in hand .

Sending positive thoughts your way, friend!

18 and family sponsored? Don't you even worry! If it was a marriage based petition like mine Id tell you to worry a little in case of a second interview. I sent more than sufficient evidences and I'm pretty sure I'd still feel that weird atmosphere of questions coming from their part.

don't want to cause you concern but just today I received my 2nd interview appointment on the same bases of what you wrote of which I also had a concern too. well... wife and I are going with no fear but little annoyed because we don't want these people to be judging us and asking inappropiate questions. Also we're bringing an attorney so.. Good Luck to you and I hope you don't have to deal with that, because if it happens to be at a local office it does NOT always mean second interview.

Do you mind sharing when you applied and when your case was transferred?

same time as you. When I read your post I was like.. oh wow! I guess its comfort lol but hey! since you're in the same boat don't take my example(situation) as it will happen to you. Like my attorney says; each case is different! don't ever base your case on someone who has a "similar" case. Agents work differently on each case and who ever handled mine maybe didn't have breakfast that morning and decided not to like my pix( thats how I see)... because everything else I had it by the book just like any other person would. Wife and I aren't concerned about questions, we're just annoyed. Day off from work, get out of our routine, extra money with attorney, etc.. Also lately we've been dealing with government stuff way too much and its only stressful.
