Didn't file 2013 or 2012 taxes. Is that a bad thing?

Hi.

I filed Married but separate for 2014 taxes.

However I did not file for 2013 yet (I did file an extension) and did not file 2012 (I was in school).

I am at NVC stage now. Is that something I should work on before submitting my 864 package?

If not, what else can I do or include on my 864 form when they ask for past three years amount?

I have a co sponsor who is well over the poverty line and has filed all three years.

When I brought my wife here to US last 2011. I didnt have my 2009&2010 tax because I was outside the country and when I Ask my local TAX service center if i need to file?.. they ask if i made more than $3000 that year and i said NO. they said i dont need to file. My mother was my co-sponsor and everthing went fine.

The only thing Is that I am self-employed.

And for 2013, I did make more than $400.

So I did make sure to get that in, so that I have an amount to put down on the 864 for the year 2013.

Thanks!
