Hey guys!

Our package was just sent to the consulate from NVC.

In packet 3, the checklist, do you simply just check things off and send it and only bring the documents on the checklist with you to the interview? Or do you actually have to send those things along with it?

Reason asking - I applied for my police certificate on Monday and was told it would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Logically, if I don't have to send it along with packet 3 then I'd like to go ahead and check it off the list so I can get on with packet 4. I would have it by the time my interview date arrives.

Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks a tons.

You can send your package without the police report for now , but just keep in mind that they will send you a checklist notice that it is outstanding and your case will be delayed because of this and wont progress until the police report is sent in. I believe you should hold off sending in your documents and just wait the 2-3 weeks to get the police report and then send it of as complete package. I say this because each time you send a document in to NVC it take 30-60 days for review and so if you send in the package without the police report and send the report after , you will get 2 sets of 30-60 days reviews. Your case will not progress with out all the documents NVC checklist requires.

Do you mean the consulate? It's no longer at NVC. It's gone to the consulate. I've read that after sending documents to the consulate they reply in 2-3 days.

It's for the k-1 visa.

My consulate was Montreal. Yep you just send the checklist back, and the other things they ask for (I forget now). There were a few things that weren't finished yet (my passport photos and affidavit evidence) but I still checked them off so that they are able to send packet 4. You just bring the docs to the interview :)
