Hello everyone. First time poster but long time follower of the forums and website, not sure if this is being posted in the right section. If not, feel free to move it.

First off let me say that I am not trying to slander or talk bad about the website Immifairy. I find the general idea of it very good and recently just joined so I could follow the progress reports as I'm sure many others are. However, here is my concern. Yesterday after reading all the talk about Immifairy and the service it provides and seeing how many people used it, I signed up for the one month subscription for $9.99 and paid with my debit card linked to my Credit Union. Within 20 minutes after signing up and paying, I got a spam text sent to my cellphone with a suspicious link that I immediately deleted. I found it weird almost immediately after signing up I got a spam text sent, which I never ever get.

Then today at work, I got a call from my credit union saying something purchased online through e-commerce has compromised my account. The only thing I've done within the last few weeks online using that card was Immifairy. I went to the credit union and they printed me out a statement with all my charges, all which I recognized. So nothing from within the last month was the cause of this compromise. I only use this card for paying my cellphone bill online, and occasionally when I am out to eat. The Immifairy charge wasn't listed on the statement because it was yesterday and likely still pending.

I realize I have no official proof that Immifairy was the cause of this compromise, and even if they were they may not have done it intentionally and they themselves may have been compromised. But that is being said with uncertainty as well because I don't want to point the finger at anyone without any proof. I am basically posting this to just let everyone know my experience, and to maybe keep and eye out. We are all here for the same purpose, to be with our significant others that are abroad. We work hard for our money and it would be devastating to any of us to have that taken away when we are already hurting enough missing our other half.

I also understand that it could be pointed out that I am to blame for lax security on my part. However, I do not believe that to be the case. I take great security measures with my money, online security, and personal information. I would never leave a debit card lying around or my computer open or give out financial information to anything that even smelled slightly suspicious. Like I said, I am just putting this out there in case anyone comes across a similar situation. Better to be safe than sorry.

I recently had an issue with them as well. I signed up and it took over a month for the payment to go through. In the meantime I got my NOA2 and wanted to cancel. But I can't get signed in. The links to reset my password don't work. Nothing happens, I tried it numerous times. It says my email is not correct. Then it says I can contact Hannah directly but an email to her bounced. This means I will be charged every month for a service I don't want .

Anyone know what's going on?

I just tried the site again and it seems something very stange is happening. On the open an account page it asks which forums you want to join and they are all financial, such as how to save enough money for a boat or improve your credit score. This list did not appear when I joined. Does that mean the site or its URL has been taken over by someone else?

i haven't been on it since i made this thread but i just checked it now. i didn't get too deep into the site but from the activity feed on the side it doesn't look to be much going on. it probably has just fluttered out. i'm not sure but i think that Hannah was waiting for a visa as well and she was the one doing the site. i am wondering that if since she has moved along in the process if she just let the site slowly die out.

can you remember the name of the credit card processing thingie?

this never happens when a paypal purchase is done, fwiw.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

If you are asking me, sorry I don't remember. I don't think I used PayPal;

She did get in touch and offer to cancel so that part is cleared up. I also don't see any activity on there.
