Hello everyone!

I filed N-400 app February 8 2015. Later on same month I received a notice from USCIS that they received my case. Approximately in March received another notice to appear for fingerprints on March 18. Done with fingerprints .

Today is September 2, so it's been 6 month and 24 days since I filed my application, and no interview date yet.

More to that, when I check my case status on their website, the only update I see is that the Case was received, and that on Feb 23 they sent me a receipt notice. That's it. The don't even mention that the fingerprints notice was mailed in , or that I am in line for interview.

Checking their website for processing times, it's still showing that as of June 30 they are working on the cases from January 23( filed 2 weeks before my application was submitted) And those dates hasn't changed for quite some time...

My green card is expiring in January 2016, I was trying to avoid having to pay double, for naturalization and renewal , and filed N-400 11 month prior to expiration date of my alien card. Well now I am filing I-90 as well.

Perhaps someone else been in situation like that? Is such a delay normal, aeaaaAny comments, advise will be greatly appreciated

Call USCIS Customer service ask them what is going on with your case ? They will tell you your application is within the processing times. Then ask to transfer you to Tier 2 officer ask tell them the exact same thing as you wrote above. Ask them where is your file ? Local office or Still at NBC ? Looks like you are stuck in security checks ask them if they are cleared and what is causing delay.

Don't worry about your Green Card expiring soon. If your N400 is not resolved within 30 days of its expiration, you can get a 6 month extension stamp placed in your foreign passport. You would need to make an infopass appointment.
