We finally got a hold w the NvC. This rude lady, lol! Said that our case was completed on August 27th. from what I understand petitions that get completed w NVC still takes a month to set an interview and another month ahead from the letter to an actual interview. I have requested vacation from my work mid NOvember assuming it'll be all done by then. Anybody can give me some insights here? Would love to have my daughter here by thanksgiving. I do not want to fly out in December because the Airline ticket cost so much.

Even though we have requested an expediting it doesn't seem to happen at all..

Normally I would say NO you can not change the appointment date set by NVC. There have been exceptions, but not the norm. At this point don't rock the boat.

Glad to see you have everything cleared away to bring your daughter.

If NVC has completed your case then they sent it to USEM. You can check your case status at this web site: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Under immigrant select check my visa application status. If it says Ready then USEM has it. You can pay your fees and schedule the interview.

Both Hank and Greenbaum have web pages specifically for the USEM process. Now you are in control of how quickly this progresses.

Don't wait for the letter - everything you need for USEM is online.

We are doing the stepchild petition which my husband is the petitioner. We have atty involved. My atty is good but I just wanted it to go faster. We filed our petition in January.

Thank you

Hi Hank, nice to hear from you. I know it's been a long journey. After 3 years she's finally coming. I am so excited...
