dd you sign a Katb el-Kitab, if so you are legally married i the eyes of immigration. It is a marriage contract and is legal and binding

In pakistan it is a nikah nama, that is the only document used for marriage. They do not sign anything at an engagement. Edited September 3, 2015 by Kastrs

I agree with TBoneTx, without a "face to face" meeting..,.,well I guess it has been approved, but I have just not read it on this site where it has been.

Maybe the reasons, is sound, I know I would not go there, but we all do what we can for the one we love.

I went to Philippines 8 times, during our K-1, as I could not stay away from my fiance'. So, I somewhat understand.

There is no such contract in Pakistan. We just do an exchange of rings on engagement.

To people who think meeting him more is so ooo important: I don't dispute that but trust me, people can hide whatever they don't want u to know. A guy dated a girl in the same city for 5 years and killed her 1 week after marriage.

As for the interview be bold and honest. My interview was approved last month as one other lady who was there. She met her husband online. He proposed on phone, they planed the wedding on phone, they meet just once and that was during the wedding. He only stayed for 1 month, she was sincere and she got the approval. My country is highly scrutinised by CO'S as yours.

Your case is unique as many other cases here, but if the intention is genuine and you are sincere, it is possible.

Someone question her choice of wanting to marry someone she has met just once and if she thinks that is good enough that was why I said that.

We are all here for advice and support on this very difficult and challenging process. We doubt ourselves sometimes so what is needed is constructive advise and encouragement as many others including yourself have done.

Listen to me my friend, everyone here has spoken well. But dont be down cast ok. From all i ve read about you here, you ve got all its take to get your visa even without the physical presence of your would-be husband.

You may not even be asked of any of the evidences you are gatheing as proof of bonifide relationship even though a letter from your dad can be good too. Gather all the primary documents yours and his and you will be fine.

You may be raising a red flag if your fiance goes to the inteview with u. Why? He couldnt visit u then but can come to the interview (redflag).

My fiance and i met once in 2yrs for just 14 days before i went for my inteview 27th Aug., 2015 at lagos consulate and was approved by God's grace.

If you are real then dont be scared of anything. GO GET YOUR VISA GIRL, ITS WAITING FOR YOU.

Look at some Islamabad reviews and threads in the South Asian forum and Pakistan portal. It will help for you to see what others have experienced. A short face-to-face time can be an issue for some localities and cultures, but it will be less of an impact for Pakistani beneficiaries. Your interview may be short, but that's not a bad sign. You may be in AP, but that's not a bad sign either!

Thanks. I am just a ball of nerves today. My fiance stayed up late just to keep me company. He will stay up late tomorrow as well so we can chat on the way to the embassy and that I inform him as soon as I come out of the interview.

had the interview today at Islamabad embassy

CO asked me around 5 or 6 questions as follows:

Q) How long have you known you fiance?

A) Since 2001, we were online friends

Q) When did you meet him in person?

A) I met him in 2014

Q) When was the last time you met him?

A) That's the only time I met him in person, first and last for 2 weeks in UK.

Q) What's the longest you have ever stayed in UK?

A) Around 4 months

Q) What does your fiance do for a living?

A) I answered that.

Q) Why do you want to marry in the US and not in PK?

A) Frankly because I am very concerned for his security here since he is a Caucasian American. We were leaning a bit toward him coming here but then terrorism started happening in Rawalpindi as well. Some 15 terrorists were captured from the housing society that I am living in. Nowadays you can't even be sure about your neighbours so we have been very reluctant about it.

He said fair enough. Then he said I am approving your visa. You will get it in 2 weeks through American Express.

I said, REALLY? I GOT IT? He said Yes. I said OMG I wish THIS (the glass screen) wasn't in between us, I so would have hugged you. He just laughed and said It was lovely meeting you.

I am so over the moon right now
