Father's written consent to marriage K1

My case is pretty straight forward but I would like some opinion on it.

I met my fiance online and we were friends for a few years. In 2011 without meeting, he told me he was in love with me and proposed to me. My sister acting on his behalf, informed my parents of his intentions and they agreed to it. He is Caucasian American and he was worried about his security if he visited me in Pakistan so we applied for the K1 without meeting and wrote this reason in the form for not having met in 2 years etc etc. Anyway, our case was denied at that time at NOA stage after 1 1/2 years and we were suggested by USCIS that we should meet in a neutral country. So we decided to meet in UK where my sister resides. I applied for UK visa and then we met in 2014 in UK where we had an engagement ceremony etc, he stayed with me and my sister at her place, took lots of pics and evidence and applied again. Thankfully everything has gone well so far.

I have interview date on 17th September and I am wondering if I should take a consent letter from dad that he agrees to this marriage. I am worried that CO might see it as a red flag that he is Caucasian (Even though he is a convert Muslim) and I am Pakistani. We have 14 years age difference and we have met only once (for two weeks) in person in 2014.

We are constantly in touch online, almost 24/7 connection on Skype, FB messenger, Phone calls. I have tons of messages, cards, emails, gift receipts, chats with my sister and dad etc. I personally don't see any issue that CO might find weird or red flag.

If he can attend the interview with you he should. I am going to attend my husbands interview on the 22nd. As you can see from the picture I am also a "Caucasian American: and have spent almost 2 months in Pakistan with no issue. As long as he dresses properly he should be a ok for a visit. Islamabad can be a difficult embassy. I would definitely bring the letter from your father. I know to you this seems totally normal (does to me too) but I can see a few things which could be considered red flags. Islamabad scrutinizes intercultural marriages much more than it does for marriages within culture. Also you have little face time which is another thing the embassy looks at closely. You mention a 14 year age difference, he is 14 years older than you?

Yes, he is 14 years older than me.If he comes for interview it negates the whole point of us not having met in the first place in Pakistan due to security concerns (USCIS agreed that it was a valid concern). Also it is a bit late now since my interview is in 15 days, he won't be able to get leave from work that quickly and apply for visa for PK etc.

Think how things look to the interviewer.

And in many embassies the spouse is not allowed in 'ou

if it was not safe before to you / and now is safe?????????>

I would question why he was not able to make several trips to you

Yes I agree with you. We couldn't make several trips to UK was that quite frankly it was very expensive for both of us to make such trips and we couldn't afford it.

Petitioner is allowed to attend the interview in Islamabad. Also this was a second petition submitted after the met in person- the first petition really has nothing to do with it (and the Embassy will not have seen the first petition)

They might not have seen the first petition but we filled it out in i129f that we had applied before and why it was denied.

I hope they would understand that beside being unsafe for him, majority of Pakistanis do not meet much before marriage. Meeting him one time in the company of your sister is proof enough that you have met, since that is what USCIS advised you to do. I don't know how the officer will see it though.

I have met my girlfriend for a month, almost double than you, and now this question got me thinking if that is enough lol.

That is how it is. It was impossible for me to meet him in a 3rd country without a chaperon. That is why my father gave his consent for us to meet in UK in my sister's house and for him to stay there and spend time with me. We had hell of a fun time.

Other than that we have a very close bond and are always within reach online or on phones, which the records that I have prove. We have Skype on auto connect on both sides and we leave our computers on 24/7. This way it is easier for us to be in each others lives regardless of 10 hours time difference. Sometimes I just connect to his Skype and look in his empty apartment while he is at work (makes me feel like I am there). We have regular date nights where him and I cook meals and then have them together on Skype Video with candle lights etc. It feels good. I don't know if the CO would understand it.

I stay up late at night or go to sleep early and wake up around 4am as he comes home from work then, we talk for a few hours and then I go back to sleep. It helps as I work online from home and my working hours are 9-5GMT instead of Pakistan time. I talk to him when he wakes up, he calls me when he gets off the bus and walks to work for 15 minutes, he calls me for 5-10 minutes at lunch time. If this doesn't seem like a real relationship to them, I don't know what will

I know how you feel. I am in the same boat, we talk for hours and hours everyday. But this is their job to scrutinize every application so they have to be as careful as possible. If your relationship is honest then you have nothing to worry about. All we can do is go with everything we have got and hope for the best.

I see your interview is coming up soon. Go confident, answer everything honestly and be friendly to the officers. You should get a notarized letter from your parents where they show support of your relationship and a brief mention of your history. Since getting a notarized letter isn't hard to get.

Also, Have your parents met your boyfriend? I mean through a video call. If so you can print out a picture of it and bring along.

My parents talk to him occasionally but I never took a screen shot. I will do so now. My dad made a facebook group in which he added me, my sister, my fiance and mom. I have a few chats from that as well which shows he interacts with me family.

I had not thought of taking video chat screen shots before and someone suggested it the other day so I took one where he was making pancake breakfast in his kitchen. He thinks I shouldn't take it with me coz he's wearing a vest and not a proper shirt. lol

Unfortunately they don't really care much for how many hours a day you Skype. They want people to actually have spent time together, in the same place at the same time. Even though USCIS said they were okay with your explanation of it not being safe for him the interviewer might question why your fiance never came to visit you while other have been going to Pakistan and visited without issues, some of them on more than one occasion. Meeting only ones is not much... Even though it is short notice it would probably be a good idea for your fiance to be with you at the interview.

You saw this man once in your entire life for two weeks and you are going to get married to him,or you are too brave or too naive.Oh yeah face time can tell a lot about someone, deception is very common because we can hide behind the screen

Did you talk to his parents? siblings?did he show his house through the skype etc? do you know where he works, how much he makes per year? not knowing these basic things the relationship heads toward disaster.Did you check his background in the USA to see if he have some criminal past?
