Scheduled K1-Visa interview (Cairo Embassy)

Good morning everyone,

Me and my fiance have applied for the k1-visa since February ,the case was completed by 11 June 2015 and the case status was ready and waiting for the embassy to schedule interview.But now we have been waiting for the embassy to call for almost 4 months.The situation is getting frustrated day after day and we have contacted the embassy couple of times and they replied with the same thing for 2 months which is " they are still scheduling interviews for the begging of April " and this is of course something I don't want to believe because if it's true then that's really sad. Note that my application from the NVC expired.

I would like to know if I am the only one in this situation and what should I suppose to do to fix this problem.

donot worry about the expired petetion as it will be automatically extended by the consulate officer.You have to wait till they schedule the people who are waiting before you.Check your status on CEAC website and soon you will hear from them.Be patient.

I am sorry to tell you but Cairo just has a long wait for interviews. In the meantime, the embassy will just re validate (extend the expiration) your petition.

Thank you guys for the fast response but do you guys have any ideas how long should it take from them to call or schedule an interview.Now its have been almost 4 months but do you think its going to take more couple of months than that.

i am so sorry to here that, but if its since 11 june then it is almost now 3 month i think , i have an attorney, i was just emailing her now, she told me currently they take from the date of the approval 131 days, i still waiting for my approval in uscis to be sent to NVC so i dont know, she is telling me that , i read your post here and even in facebook i think and made me so down, i am sorry for that, and i dont think it will be much longer than that, maybe another couple of weeks

First of all thank you for your help,I really appreciate it .I have noticed that I am almost 3 months and going to the fourth by the 11th of September sorry about the mistake .I have finished my papers with the NVC since May and still nothing.But the biggest problem is that we have contacted the embassy around 3 times in the last 2 months and all the replies was that they are still working on scheduling April and the biggest surprise is that we have contacted them last week and we got the same answer from them scheduling April!!! which is very frustrating.This made me feel that they are not really working on the process and sometimes I feel that they will never contact me.

i came now again thought maybe you are filling for CR1, but you are a k1 visa, like me, this to me is sooo disappointed, just make sure there is no something wrong with your application, try to find others person same month as you if they had their or still waiting, by 11 September you will complete the 3 months and after that you are starting the fourth, and people say it happen after the three months by days, but the problem what they say, i am so confused and own at the same time, but try to make sure you are the only one waiting that time, i am sorry for what u e going through and pray things move faster, this is too much, i already waiting over 6 months to have my approval from the uscis, cant bear more waiting like that, truly it breaks my heart

About your uscis part I really feel sorry for you about that I looked up at the center you working with and I found out that it's Texas ,I read a lot everywhere that Texas is much more slower than California maybe that's why you waiting for along time now I hope soon they going to approve your case as I can really feel your frustration about it.

you are so welcome truly, i feel so sorry for what is going on with Cairo, it is so easy in other countries, but here in Egypt everything is so hard, i don't know why is that, its frustrating, i am thankfully had my approval and yesterday sent to NVC , i don't know how long it will take to have the assign number from NVC and to be sent to the consulate, i mean i already waited enough with Texas service center, i pray it is easier after that, and know something, maybe they just tell you they are working with April just to stop calling i don't know, what i always see it takes from 2 months to 3 months to receive the interview date, listen , send them that u need to know predictable date so you know before it to do the medical exam, as they mention to do it 3 weeks before the interview, i know someone here they sent him the interview date and it was after i think a week or maybe less and he did not have the time to have his medical result so he had to send it after the interview, try to fill your timeline so we can know the dates, it gives people better idea to estimate the processing time and if i know anything or saw anyone's date like you i will tell you, and keep me updated when u recieve you interview date

YESS now i checked for you, she says she has been waiting since May, she got her interview date today, she did not say when is her interview, but she also said ( My State Representative contacted the Embassy on our behalf and and emailed us the information regarding the interview forDode ....as he mentioned the Embassy did not email or call regarding the appt that was scheduled) i took what she said copy and paste, so if you are june, your time coming next inshaa Allah
