Hello everyone

My fiance applied for me in july 2015, all we know is that the cheque we sent got cleared on 15th july 2015, but we haven't received any confirmation if the process has started or not. it this normal not to received confirmation for 60 days or more ?

one thing more i want to know is that , is there any official email or number where we can email/ call to ask status or any other update regarding our K-1 visa application

you should have received a receipt notice about a week after filing the petition. I would call USCIS and ask them about the status. The check being cleared means they received it, but you should have the receipt notice with the receipt number so you know which service center your application is at and so you can track the status online.

Very best of luck!

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

this is the link where you can put in the case number and it will give you the status. You can also sign up for email alerts for when they update your case.

So sorry brother. I was trying to say that I would advise you to call USCIS. They will only give information to the petitioner and beneficiary or any legal representatives. Do see what your cousin says though if you put his address on your application. Whichever US residence you put on the application, that should be where they sent the receipt.

Hope this helps :)

Your fiance may want to be a little more involved in this process, any communication with USCIS whould be done by him, they will not release any information to anyone other than the petitioner. Also, his address should be listed on the case so that he gets all mail, doing it through your cousing might delay the process.

From this date and on send everything via return receipt and get a tracking number from post office

Also, keep a copy of everything you send, even if you send a copy of birth certificate, don't just say i have the original

Copy it, keep in a separate area of what you have done for this visa / i kept everything. I did and it helped when things got lost by USCIS

After you do get your number, if you need to send any further papers, put the receipt number in the upper right hand corner of each page (later on this number will change when it reaches NVC), some say to also put bothe names and DOB there also.
