I read about resumes and stuff for bio chemistry people ..how about medical graduates or Doctors ..??? What's should they expect at interview??

Now I'm wondering, too. Husband is a veterinarian with some lab experience (vaccine production), but he's back to doing clinical work now.

I guess we'll bring his resume and proof that he's enrolled in the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates)...anything else?

Hey guys just a quick question. Ive been scheduled an interview date and have received a letter with the documents I need to bring. It does not mention that I need to bring an affidavit of support. My husband sent an affidavit of support to the nvc when we submitted our forms. However, I have read online experiences of other immigrant visa processes and they all mention taking an affidavit of support with them. I want to know if I need to take an affidavit of support to my interview. Thank you

Look again on the documents listed on your interview letter. Check out what letter is beside "financial documents." Then check the code definitions in your interview letter, it will tell you what you should do (either bring the original, or NVC already sent it to the Consulate or Embassy so they have the original assuming that's what your husband had sent already to NVC). If they have the original AOS and there are no new federal tax forms that have been filed since then, then you should be ok, just bring copies of everything you sent.

Keep in mind I've asked another question on this forum regarding the updated AOS form and if we need to bring that to the interview if we'd previously sent the old one. USCIS website says it will stop accepting the old one on October 6th, our interview is on Oct 8th, I would guess we're ok since we already got a CC based on the old form submitted, but I asked just to be on the safe side; haven't gotten an answer yet.

It is my understanding that the "USCIS will not accept the old version of AOS after...." is for your ORIGINAL submission of the AOS.

If there is data that has changed (new job, updated tax information) between your original submission and your interview, then you should fill out and bring the new form to your interview, but if your case has already closed, and there is no change to the info on your AOS, you should be fine with your original.

IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders

================================================================================

Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:

He or she is more than 16 years old;

He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and

He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate.

Bring this interview letter to the medical exam. Bring this letter to the medical examination because the panel physician may need to review it before performing the examination.

Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview.

Petitioners are not required to attend the applicant's immigrant visa interview. Facility size and/or security concerns may limit who may accompany a visa applicant during his or her visit to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Please visit the U.S. Embassy or Consulate's webpage for more information at usembassy.gov.

I hope this helps

Thanks a lot Sukie! That's very helpful advice.

At the time I filed the original AOS I hadn't yet filed my 2014 income taxes (I provided proof of extension request). Since then I've filed. So in my case there has been "updated tax information" and I will go ahead and fill out the new AOS anyway. Better to be safe than sorry!

Just had my interview yesterday in Rio de Janeiro and got an approval!

After exactly 11 months of wait from filing our application, the interview part lasted exactly 3 minutes and 40 seconds - I looked at my watch when they called me to the booth and again after I walked away. Just four questions questions: when did we meet, where did we meet, what type of work I do and what type of visa I had before.

Now just have to wait for the passport to get back - the postal service is on strike in Brazil and things are moving slower. There is always something....

YAY!!!

You must be so glad that's over with. Congrats! Amazing huh, how easy the interview is after all that time. I guess no need to be nervous, it's just a formality.

My interview is tomorrow, I am so excited! After 14 ff-in' months it's long due:)

It means that these documents are not needed for your interview. They are not relevant or non-exisstent.

I was wondering the same (our interview is Oct 15). I had sent my 2014 tax return, so nothing has changed there.

Our lawyer said we should be ok with the AOS documents sent to NVC as nothing has changed, but just to be on the safe side, we completed the new i864 form with original signatures to take to interview.

If..

2014 return was submitted to NVC, and

income is comfortably above the poverty threshold for household size, and

no changes since NVC submission,

..should be fine.

Hello Saylin,

I think you are best person to ask this question at this forum as you been very help full.

I filed a petition for my sister and got NOA on January 7th 2003 at that time she had three children now she has four having aged 24,22,20 and 12 I called NVC that I did not receive any case number yet and I was told that this case is under review under Child Status Protection Act and I will be notified as soon as it's finished.

My question is who will be eligible under this act and usually how long this process takes. I really appreciate it.

Congratulations. Welcome to the group. Are you interviewing in SA? I see you have Case Complete would never have known. I added you to spreadsheet. Could you update your profile so your flag shows and also update your timeline you have Armenia. This people from your country can find you and ask like you just asked Ochili. No one would know what country you are going to interview.

You helped me with a few questions a few posts back lol and you probably missed my case complete post. I applied for my parents its IR-5 case. They are not from South Africa but they are interviewing there because that's the nearest consulate that does those types of cases. Armenia didnt see that at all ill update it. Thank you!
