I received my interview date (10/5) by calling the NVC last Tuesday evening (9/15) and again on Friday morning (9/18). So far, I have not received the P4 email appointment letter and my file still shows 'At NVC' on the CEAC website. Should I be worried?? OK, I am worried ... but do I have a reason to be worried?? Do I need to call the NVC again??

:clock:

I hear they are being slow like a week. But call them tell them u need letter now for medical. Think their email is broken. Why are we surprised they are so inconsistent.

Hi dwheels, I actually meant if Petitioners' alien file (if they are naturalized Citizens) is also sent?

What is the A-File? What you submitted to USCIS and thing submitted at NVC is all part of your case file that gets sent to the embassy for interview.

But A-file (as in ??)

How do you know about your interview date. Did you call them or receive an email. It's just within a day you got the interview set from scan date. Do we need to keep calling NVC. Will it help to get interview quickly. Thanks.

Okay for the record calling doesn't get you an interview. You already have it. So calling over over doesn't make them give you one.

As you can see because people aren't getting the P4 letter we call here on VJ to find out first. I know someone today just found out they had a interview it was scheduled over a week ago They got a letter today.

Our situation is so much a like! I called them to confirm my CC and they told me that my interview date is October 5th. Haven't received any notice yet. I think I will call them on Friday if there's no change.

Dwheeelssss,

My FALAFEL hit the spot and got my interview with approval. The interviewing agent was real nice and asked me 2 questions only before giving me the passport collection slip.

Thank you my fellow Vj's for helping me out on this journey.

For everyone who is still in the process. Good luck and hang in there. There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Hey guys, I went to an IR-1 interview today in Moscow and here is my experience, it might be useful for some.

My interview was scheduled for 8:30 am, but I decided to get there earlier, arrived at 7:50. It is just one line for all types of visa and appointment times. There were already soo many people and everyone tries to cut the line. It took a long time to get in. Don't take any prohibited items like perfume, water, food, charges, usb-drives etc. They won't store those for you, they'll only take your phone. I gave my delivery confirmation to the first window and received a number in my line, then went to the hall 5, gave them a green paper and then had to wait until I was called. The room was tiny and full of people, most didn't have a place to sit. Even though I came way earlier than should have, I somehow ended up almost at the end of all immigrants. They didn't call all numbers in the strict order, so two people that came after me were interviewed first. After an hour of waiting a lady asked me to give her my original documents, she asked for a birth certificate, new police certificate, its translation, marriage certificate, photos and the medical package. She gave me some pamphlets and I went back to waiting. Interviews were so long.... Every person took about 20 minutes. At around 10:30 I was called to an interview room. The consular seemed friendly and asked some basic questions at first, and then he started grilling me about my job! How was it relevant?? My job is very ordinary! He asked me every detail about it and then told me to give him my resume... I had a giant folder full of everything you could possibly think of and a photo album, but a resume is definitely something really unexpected! Of course, I didn't have one! Why would I need it? It is not an employment-based visa! So he told me to send that to him and then they will review the documents again. He was also about to request a police certificate from China, even though I never stayed there for longer than 6 months in a row. It would be impossible to obtain! But in the end he only decided to request a resume...
So, dear applicants, have that on hand just in case. I don't how my case will end, but for now I am in an uncertainty.

That is very weird for a CO to ask for a resume. Sorry to hear that. He probably wasn't having the best of mornings.

In my interview today she barely asked me anything. Only required my police certificates and that's it.

I hope it gets sorted out for you soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience... a "Resume"?!? Did he say how long the review process would take?

Since we're on the subject of employment, I'm wondering if the consulate will need the original Employment Verification Letter with signatures?

He didn't say anything. I asked him what would be next and he just said to send them the resume ASAP and wait for them to review the documents again.

I'm sorry that it wasn't a smooth process for you :( hopefully the review goes quickly though.

I've been asked to bring a resume in with my interview - I just assumed that everyone had to! Wonder if it's just Australia...

My wife had her interview in Stockholm this morning! Approved!!

Finally, after more than 3 years of processing and waiting since we got married, we are now able to live together! (We started in the F2A category, but changed to IR1 when I got naturalized this June).

We are SOOO happy right now!!!

Thank you to VJ and all members that have helped us through this journey. We have gotten so much help and support from this community.

My wife will write a review of her interview experience later, but she said it was pretty smooth and no unexpected questions.

On the topic of resumes, the embassy did not request any documentation related to her education or work, and during her interview she was only asked what she is currently working with, and what she is planning to do when she gets to the US.
