dwheels76 is it normal for the ceac status to change from at nvc to in transit and then ready so fast? yesterday when i checked at night it said at NVC then this morning it came up as in transit which got me excited! but then when i checked about an hour ago it shows ready... ive been reading here at that usually takes more time... what do you think of this...? Thank You!!

my cc was 08/03 and interview was sched on 09/14, got Interview letter on 09/16

I guess Jamaica is either a very busy embassy or they don't slot alot of Immigration Visa interviews. For the last yes Jamaica has been a 2 to 4 month wait. Sorry.

Very busy and we aren't a priority- the tons of tourist visas they get are. Really sucks when you hear of all these people who don't qualify but they still apply and get appointments so quickly only to be denied after a 5 minute interview because they didn't qualify.

Oh well nothing we can do but wait and hope for the best. It's 98 days to Christmas, I just hope hubby is there by then.

NVC told case complete. I saw now only one N/A for AOS fee. I do see in this forum lot of peope got 3 N/As as case complete.

I need to wait till 3 N/As to appear to confirm as case complete.

Called back to NVC this morning and rep said that our case file has not gone out yet and would likely ship out over the next two weeks(!) Now our interview date is October 7th. I'm just going to have my wife bring to the interview all of the documents that I mailed to the NVC just to be on the safe side.

Smart move. I think the embassies you know only have so much space and I know they don't send petitions usually more than 30 days out . But I have seen them get case-files 2 and 1 week prior. Let me tell you a secret. That's an indicator of good things.

Remember USCIS has reviewed and approved you but they also make notes. Lets say you were approved but they noted, *Not sure if their ex is still around". It would require further investigation and your case-file would need to get to embassy sooner than a cut and dry case that will take like 2 minutes. Remember the decision is already made before you go up to the window.

Of course case-files do get lost and NVC does send out late as we saw with our dear sis here from Tunisia. So I also could be full of BS. LOL

If they told you case complete, you have case complete. The 3 N/As are just a glitch in the online system that allow people to see their CC early in many cases. It's not necessary to have 3 N/As.

Question--we paid the IV application fee of $325 online at the beginning of the NVC process. Does this mean that we don't have to pay a processing fee at the consulate (assuming she is approved)? Obviously we'll have to pay the courier fee, but are there any other NVC/consulate fees?

That was the IV Fee. After you get Visa there is a Visa fee (or as we call the Green card production fee) you pay online here http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-eliswither before you leave your country or when you arrive. Doesn't matter.

To ask for the estimate time for interview scheduling in the cairo embassy shall I call the NVC or the embassy could help in that ????

Neither is going to tell you that's what the spreadsheet is for. Egypt is about a 3 to 4 month wait. Has been for along time. Calling NVC will get you" You don;t have a date." Calling embassy will get you nothing no one will tell you how long it takes. It's like my spreadsheet where you can actually see where they stopped scheduling for Egypt they stopped on CC 5/20. I have 5/22 still waiting. So that gives you an idea.
