Called back to NVC this morning and rep said that our case file has not gone out yet and would likely ship out over the next two weeks(!) Now our interview date is October 7th. I'm just going to have my wife bring to the interview all of the documents that I mailed to the NVC just to be on the safe side.

NVC told case complete. I saw now only one N/A for AOS fee. I do see in this forum lot of peope got 3 N/As as case complete.

I need to wait till 3 N/As to appear to confirm as case complete.

If they told you case complete, you have case complete. The 3 N/As are just a glitch in the online system that allow people to see their CC early in many cases. It's not necessary to have 3 N/As.

Question--we paid the IV application fee of $325 online at the beginning of the NVC process. Does this mean that we don't have to pay a processing fee at the consulate (assuming she is approved)? Obviously we'll have to pay the courier fee, but are there any other NVC/consulate fees?

You were supposed to send only a copy to the NVC and then bring the original to the interview.

In any case, your P4 letter should tell you if you need to bring it to the interview or not.

Thanks for the reply!

Japanese police certificate was in an envelope and sealed. When the seal is broken, the certificate would be invalid. So I had to send the original. I've asked NVC via phone and the lady I spoke to told me that I don't need to bring another one. I'm waiting for my P4 letter now.

Hi guys, I was approved at my interview on 09/16 at the Ghana Consulate. I have since been trying to write a review about my experience but finding it difficult to do so. Each time I click on the Embassy review/submit a new consulate review, it send's me to a page with this message:

Do I need to register again to submit a review?

Hi dwheels,

I really need your advice.

I got my CC a few weeks ago (I'm applying together with my daughter), and I was a bit worried because I didn't hear anything about the interview even though the Rio de Janeiro embassy is not a very busy one. When I called yesterday, they said there was something missing in my case.

I eventually got to a person at NVC who informed me that from my part everything was ready, but my daughter's i-130 file was missing and without it they couldn't send our cases to interview.

I have always believed that the first thing the NVC does when it receives the documents from USCIS is to scan all documents and then assign it a case number... how come they don't have my daughter's I-130 yet?

Have you ever heard of this happening?

Thank you for your help!

I've been through NVC twice..two different cases at different times. What I've learned is, NVC is like a 3 ring circus. It's a poorly run clutter bust of confusion. I have heard of EVERYTHING. Sometimes after I read of something strange they have done, I puzzle over it for awhile, trying to wrap my mind around HOW they could make such a mess. No matter how strange and nonsensical it seems, if they say they don't have something they obviously should have, or you're sure they did have, but now they say they don't have....submit it again, whatever it is.

Dragi - some countries will not send YOU a copy of the Police Report. They require it to be sent directly to the appropriate Consulate/Embassy. Japan is one of these countries and Hong Kong is another. Because there is a lot of country-specific info - we can't really say "send only a copy". That is one thing that is hard on this forum - a lot of advice really depends on country-specific info.

To make it even harder, for example, two Australian states (Queensland and New South Wales) state they will only send the Police Report directly to Sydney. The other Australian states and territories will send it directly to you.

Makes it really hard to give and get good advice, right?

Hi Lowlie,

Actually I did ask them yesterday if I could have sent them a copy of her i-130 myself - I do have all documents scanned, but they said that no, it needs to be the copy with the USCIS annotations.

BUT

I just got an email a few hours ago from the supervisor herself (not an automated message) saying that they just finished her case and now everything is okay. I don't know why but I feel I am very lucky with supervisors, for example, this lady even gave me her direct number.

My whole case has been really odd - my CC came only 10 days after the scan date, but there has been so many turnarounds with my daughter's case that it has already been 34 days - I guess I will only feel real peace once I have my interview date.
