Someone here told me we don't need to call NVC, or wait for an email to know when we'll have an interview scheduled, because that's what the spreadsheet is for. She said she watches the spreadsheet daily for her interview date to appear.

I don't know how many people don't understand what the spreadsheet is about. Dwheels is not an NVC rep and she has no inner connections there. The NVC does not notify her of VJ member's interview appointments. She only adds a VJ member's interview date to the spreadsheet when that VJ member informs her of their date.

LOL thank you. I swear I get in boxed all the time from people to schedule them on this date or that. Or some who believe I am a secret undercover CO lurking here.

I so wish I had control over NVC we would see whole different ballgame and efficiency.

Thank you Lowlie. :goofy:

For those who wonder "Why do you have to call. Why not wait for the email?" Well as we all have learned on VJ the closed mouth gets nothing. We here at VJ have a need to know now not later. Imagine the folks that don;t know to call NVC and get case# and call to get DS-261 reviewed. They are sitting for an email from NVC.

We call because we want to know now. Look at the Thursday and Friday folk just getting emails today. Anyway we call because we want to know. If you are in no hurry to know than by all means sit and wait for the email.

Case Complete to Interview spreadsheet

From now on your VJ Member name will be verified. If the name you put on form to be added to spreadsheet comes up not found, you will not be added to the spreadsheet. If you don't have a timeline you will not be added to the spreadsheet.

Please Please put your VJ member name only. Not nicknames or real names whatever your VJ name is. It's below your profile picture!!

Oh man i forgot to ask in my last post..

My Ceac portal still says AT NVC .. Is that normal ?

I already have the Interview emai.

How long does it take for them to send the Docs to the Embassy and can i get a Medical sorted out before the Embassy even gets the paper work ?

Thank you guys.

Ours still says At NVC as well, even though the rep at NVC told me the package has shipped on Sep 14. I don't know what's with that. Will probably call them today and ask.

Looks like the US Embassy in Jamaica is crying foul. They are now like the NVC, crying about backlog. I remember checking one of those NVC reps as they were still using the backlog at NVC story after the backlog had dwindled.

Looks like the longest part of this process will be waiting for the interview in Jamaica. That Embassy seems to be ever busy.

It's either its very busy or only slotting a few immigration Visa slots. It's been for over a year a 2 to 3 month wait

7/28 CC and no interview. Hoping we get one in October. I have no idea what the hold up is.

You know what the problem is they take care of other countries cases such as my country (Iran) and specially syria :(

Thats why it takes long time .

President obama said they are going to accept 10000 refugees from syria !!!! most of them are in Turkey now ... that's why

Embassy is very crowded :(

They need to cut back on handing out tourist visas appointments like water and get some of those people to handle our petitions. They accept so many tourist visa applications knowing that they will only approved 1/4 of them. They waste so much time having people come in that don't even qualify on paper only to tell them no and keep the money.

Mi ago block road and protest in front a embassy.

Fi real. We need for immigrant visa slots. We pay more money so why not.

Haa wow, I wish I could in-box you right now and get you to schedule our interview! :joy:

On the subject of taking the initiative to call NVC...I know there have been a few situations in which someone finally called NVC to ask why there's nothing new happening with their case, and were told there was no record of their AOS package, or something on their check list being received at NVC. Think how long a case could be delayed if a person didn't know this was the problem for a very long time? YIKES!

NVC can sometimes be very slow in sending an email. Due to frequent calling, we knew we had a checklist right away, and the needed documents were already in the hands of NVC before the check list email ever reached us!

I call them every few days to ask if we have an interview appointment yet, because I've heard of some people needing to delay their appointment on account of not getting their medical appointment in time. The sooner you know you have an appointment, the sooner you can get your medical appointment scheduled!
