I wish there were more people on here for Nicaragua... I just called NVC and they are still waiting on an intervew date from the embassy. I can't imagine they are that busy... hoping we get an October interview.

There's no specific time. Once they send out its there 2 to 4 days. Usually they go out no earlier than 30 days before interview. I have seen cases not go for a week or 2.

I see, and when does the status on the NVC website change from "At NVC"? Should we call the NVC to find out when the case was shipped out?

Cairo people, look at it this way...mango season is in full swing and can be enjoyed to the fullest without a pesky interview or international travel plans getting in the way (if you don't like mangoes, don't talk to me). Take a trip to Ismailia and get your fill of butter (zebda) mangoes. You won't find any mango as sweet or delicious in the US.

Hahahahaa. Good luck everyone!

We're planning on bringing originals/certified copies and photo copies of all documents that we submitted to the NVC:

Wife's Docs:

Birth certificate

Police certificates

Marriage certificate

Passport (full photo copies)

Passport size photos (2)

Interview letter

Print out confirmation of completion of DS-260

My Docs:

Affidavit of Support (I-864)

Tax returns

Tax transcripts

W2s

Employment letter

Birth certificate

Full photo copies of passport

Translations of any docs that are in a different language than English or Italian

And most important, proof of relationship documents.

We may not need all of these items, but it's better to have over enough than not enough.

Hi, K & V. If you will read the first email in this forum, you will see detailed information about the status. DWheels has kindly posted this for all of us.

Hay guys

does anyone know how long it takes after receiving interview letter for the satus to change to in transit?

it depends. No specific time line. It could be days to weeks. All depends on workload of embassy. Normally they don't go out more than 30 days before interview. I have seen cases at NVC sit until 2 weeks before interview. They bundle them together. So the busier embassies may take longer.

It seems like NVC would want to work hard to clear out their big backup of cases waiting for an interviews. Who knows, maybe they are trying, but the embassies are over loaded with interviews. I know tourist visa interviews take priority, and we know summer and fall are tourist season in the USA. In October the need for tourist interviews should drop quite a lot.

This is my theory on Cairo. They are backlogged printing new Visas Some haven't still got there's with June Interviews. So I think they are trying to catch up before they load up even more.

Does anyone know if K1's there are getting to schedule?

I see, and when does the status on the NVC website change from "At NVC"? Should we call the NVC to find out when the case was shipped out?

It changes from "At NVC" to "In Transit" then "Ready" when it arrives. If you have a need to know sure call and ask when they shipped it out they will tell you if it has.
