I just called NVC this morning. I talked to lovely woman I thought. She said that my case is processing but haven't got interview date yet. She asked me to call NVC back on middle of Sep and she hope I could get interview date on Oct (but she can't ensure 100%)

I asked her how long for processing time from complete date to interview date, she replied that it's up to embassy schedule. I hope all CR1/IR1 in Vietnam will have interview date on middle of Sep.

This is the first time i had long conversation by phone with NVC staff bcos before they always ended call after replying my question about interview date. GO CR1/IR1 VIETNAM!!!

(My case was completed on Apr 27th 2015)

I've been calling too. I hate hearing "you're just waiting for an interview to be scheduled"....I , too, was so excited when it was CC and thought it was going to finally start moving. HA! Even if they would just give me a DATE I'll be happy. The not knowing is killing me!

@ Judesky1,.yep,very frustrating o..no be small tin, they are still on June 11th CC as at last month..i asked them an estimate of how many people waiting ahead of me at least to have a clue..they don't know..arghh,na wa o!!..God will surely intervene..hoping to hear from them at most december, absolutely ridiculous..ive never been soo patient..nna mehn!!!!..i remembered arranging the house after i got my CC in june, prepping to go buy food stuffs thinking i will get an interview in July..i scattered everything again..loll,i got upset..now,upset is an understatement..just folding my arms to watch, cos ive used up all my energy calling and jumping to check emails..so i just started going back to d gym to keep me busy cos i stopped working out and gained weight since june just from worrying abt this..ugh!!..it is well..

My husband filled as MFS, since i dont have SSN. Its always better to file as married when ur married.

There is a big thread on here regarding that subject of taxes. They say filing MFS or MFJ is the way to go. There is an additional form needed if filing MFJ with a spouse that doesn't have a social security number. I have also read some posts that said they filed Single with the intention of amending once their spouse joined them.

Thank you SiVin, ikeNme and Bunny&Ninja for such quick reply. So if my wife has to do an amendment of her taxes by changing status to MFS, then how to solve the problem of providing my SSN on that form ? Since I havent entered USA yet, what should she specify in the box where they ask for my SSN (as I dont have one yet) ?

Or would it be appropriate to do amendment after I enter USA, so she will then have my SSN to enter on amendment form ?
