Hey guys, it's been awhile. But I did read some of the posts from my email. I feel sorry for everyone who's been waiting for many days but haven't received their interview date. I hope your patience will be paid off very soon. Remember with every hardship there is relief. My prayers are with all of you.

Anyway, I am in the middle of collecting documents to be brought to the interview.I am a little confused with immigrant visa application part 1 and part 2. I think part 1 is ds260.. but I don't know what is part 2.. am I missing something guys?. Thanks in advance.

Also, medical is tomorrow, I've got his passport, a copy of his passport, 2 passport size pics of my husband, and the interview letter. Am I missing anything?

Makes sure you bring his vaccination records. Those are very important. The doc here asked for 4 pictures not 2, so if you have extra, bring them just in case.

A few post back someone ask the same thing. It's an old $ form not updated. The Part 1 and 2 refers to the old DS-230 form. Just have the confirmation page thats all that is required to bring.

Hello everyone how long does it take to get the email from nvc about the interview? Goy my CC a week ago. Iam from Peru.

Congratulations on the CC. Once you are scheduled a interview the P4 letters seems to be coming about a week later some sooner. Right now I believe all embassies are done with October so about 2nd week in October November announcements should be happening.

I did not see your letter or any interview letter as I am still waiting for my interview. But based on what you said, if they ask to bring the Financial Evidence to the interview then we need to bring the following originals whatever available (based on your situation)

1. I-864 signed by the sponsors originals. Even if you submit the original it's always better to carry another one to the interview.

2. The W-2's (Originals)

3. Employment letter showing the salary (original)

4. Tax returns or tax transcripts or both. (Original or copy depending on what you submitted to NVC)

5. Paystubs Originals

It's always better to carry more to save the time. Basically we want to prove that there is sufficient finance available. If we could able to show the original W2's, Employment letter showing the salary, Tax Returns or tax transcripts then the officer will have confidence and they can approve immediately. If we carry the copies then they can always say that provide the originals to approve which could delay the process.

If we just show I-864 original they might ask the income proof like original W2s, Salary Certificates, Pay checks etc. We have already submitted these to NVC but we submitted only copies. We should be able to show all the origials at the interview for which we submitted copies to NVC. We only submit original for I-864 only but not any original for W2, pay checks, employment letter etc.

But in fact the instructions say to sign in black ink! I'm surprised that NVC thought people's original I-864s signed in black ink were scanned copies. We submitted originals signed in black ink to NVC, in our interview letter it says they sent it to the Consulate so I assume it was accepted. It was the old form though, so just in case we are bringing an original updated one to the interview.

Maybe bring 2 copies of updated I-864s, one signed in blue and the other in black, just to be on the safe side? I honestly have stopped trying to figure these people out......

Quick question - I live abroad with my husband (the intending immigrant) and don't have US-based income so we got my father as the joint sponsor. He is the one with the W-2s, not me. It's not feasible for him to send me his original W-2s or other original documents (like his birth certificate - he sent me a scanned copy). I called NVC and they said it's ok to bring copies of these things but I thought I would ask you guys because we all know they don't always give reliable information.

Can anyone share their experience with this? Perhaps dhwheels, do you know if copies are ok? He will send me an original updated I-864 (new form) but it's hard to get important original documents that aren't easily replaced from a sponsor who isn't the spouse and who's not in the same country. Are they going to give us a problem?
