Hey everyone! I have a quick question: when it comes to Financial Documents, hubby has to fill in the Affidavit of Support. Can he use i-864EZ if he worked for the past 3 years abroad? He doesn't have the W-2 form, requested at question 1b :/ but does have all the tax transcripts. Thanks!

If ALL 3 conditions are met, you can use 864ez:

"1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and

3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal

Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers."

However, it may be BEST to ask an NVC agent who can better assess your situation. There are some agents who can really help with this

Also, tax transcripts can be submitted instead of w2's.

Hello Everyone! Ok so I am so confused between i-864 and i-864A. I have been unemployed for past 2 years and My father will be my Joint sponsor. I am living at his house and I am a dependent on his income tax return. Do we use i-864 or the i-864A????

a question concerning the DS-261. Our case is bringing a child to the US. Since the beneficiary is a minor, will they still require him to choose an agent?

My documents arrived at NVC, waiting for a scan date! It seems like it takes about a day or two after arriving for them to scan it?

Hopefully 20 day reviews will continue and it's my last month in NVC! Though I do have a cosponsor, so thinking that may slow down the review a littler . . . Maybe second to last month in NVC, lol.

USC abroad since 2007

Married French husband 2012

Bébé born 2014 - CRBA and US passport a few months later

Me + husband + bébé + cat all arrived safely in the US on January 25th

Visa process 2015

I-130 sent: June 2nd (delivered June 4th by Chronopost)

NOA1 received: June 8th via email, June 15th via post - California Service Center

NOA2 received: June 30th via email, July 7th via post

NVC received case: July 16th

NCV case number by phone: July 30th (assigned July 29th)

DS-261 completed online: July 31st

AOS Fee available/paid online: August 4th

AOS Fee shows as "PAID"; August 6th

DS-261 accepted by phone: August 19th

IV invoice received by mail: August 20th (late at night)

IV fee available/paid online: August 21st

IV fee shows as "PAID": August 25th

AOS/IV packages sent: August 29th (delivered September 2nd via Chronopost)

DS-260 completed: August 31st

AOS/IV scan date: September 2nd

3 N/As and case complete: September 24th

Interview: November 12th - approved!

You scan date will most likely be today and you will probably get the e-mail on Friday saying they received your documents on 9/2/15.

Yes, the process is exactly the same. One of the very few exceptions is regarding police reports for the IV package - they are not necessary for people under 16.

Mailed my Financial & Supporting documents , my postage tracking shows it was delivered and signed by NVC, it's been 3 days. With USCIS I got a received notice/email/text with 24hrs.

When am I excepted to hear from NVC in regards to receiving my mail? also what has been others experience in regards to how long it to for NVC to review all your documents ?

I had some down time so i thought I'd call to check if there was an issue why you can't get through.

Call 1 (800) 375-5283

Press 1

Press 2

Press 2 and I got a rep within a minute.

Or call and just don't press anything. The system will automatically assume you are on a rotary phone and transfer you directly to a rep. Just let the automated system talk and then a rep will pick up. If they speak Spanish just apologize and tell them you speak English.

So I got through to USCIS only to be told that they cannot provide me with any information since I am the beneficiary. I tried calling NVC and got through on my second attempt after 30 mins wait time. Super excited because the rep confirmed that our case was received yesterday September 1 and gave the normal line about calling in 30 days for a case number. Hopefully we can get a case number soon.

You will need both, u fill out I864 and ur dad fills I864A as the household member .
