I decided to log into ceac.state.gov when I got up this morning and the box was available to tick on the AOS fee. Maybe try again a bit later :)

Question: Do I still need to review my DS-261 on the phone, if they have opened up the fee payment (only AOS so far, not IV fee)? I figured if the system let me pay it it was OK for me to pay it, but now I'm going to worry that I did it in the wrong order and it's going to mess me up.

Yes, you need to have it reviewed for the sake of speed. You will not see IV fee available until 261 is reviewed.

If you guys have any questions specifically for me,

I will be glad to help via private message.

The AOS fee is available before the review of the DS-261. It is done at the same time or soon after your DS-261 is available.

The IV fee won't be available till the DS-261 is reviewed.

Yes, you need to have it reviewed for the sake of speed. You will not see IV fee available until 261 is reviewed.

I have just been online and found that the AOS fee is available too

We have to pay it then try to get the Ds261 form revieweď or wait till it get reviewed then tbe IV fee will be available.

But if you gonna send the AOS and THE IV apckages together before you pay the iv fee, you should try to get the ds261 be reviewed very quickly and submit the ds260 form before they review your papers to avoid getting checklist.

I am gonna wait till i pay both of them to be in the safe side

So I called and got a nice older lady, and she said they're working on my file right now and she can see it but she can't change or update anything in it, and then in the course of our little chat she verified everything that I had included in the DS-261 but I guess she tried to click her button or what have you and wasn't able to change the status or unlock the IV fee thinger.

I'm going to check again later anyway :)

My case was approved on September 8 at CSC, I have contacted the NVC last week and today and they have not received my case yet. I also contacted USCIS last week and they said they didn't have my case either. The USCIS website has not been updated to indicate that it was sent. The NVC representative told me it would take 35 days, but when I read through VJ forums it seems that most people get through in a couple of weeks. Any other suggestions on how to locate my case?

All I can tell you is that mine took 21 days to be received by NVC, so it may not be lost, just slow.

I have noticed the recent trend for the approved cases to reach NVC only after a long while. Mine arrived 20 days after. Just a little more patience, man! The good news is around the corner!

It's a little off-topic, guys, but I wanna ask anyway, not to create an extra topic. Which photograph will be on our spouses' green cards? the ones that they bring to the interview?

quick question, i am a bit confused on the choice and agent.

i just got my NVC case number and IIN (yeah!) and i can log into the https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/website to fill the "DS-261 Online Choice of Address and Agent"

can i do it immediately? I didn't get any letter from NVC, just the case numbers on the phone

elsewhere i read about a DS-3032 form to be done by mail, and I am confused about the difference.

thank you so much!

If you have an address in the US that you can use (is your spouse there?) then use that one, I think is what they recomnmend, in case your mail is slow getting overseas.

I'm not sure what's best for your situation...we will use electronic processing here in Canada so everything will come by email, but I'm not sure what the case is for Egypt, whether they will email you rather than mail things? someone else will answer I'm sure :) or you can ask in the Egypt forum, too.

Has anyone done Electronic Processing this month? Did anyone receive a receipt for it? We sent our on September 7th at night and never got an email saying they got it.

I have called 3 times and they told me with emails they can't see if they got it until they start working on it and that I need to wait 35 days. I have not called since the beginning of last week. I might call tonight or tomorrow.

I am just worried they will tell me in 35 days they never got it and that we need to send again, etc.

I was really hoping to get an interview/be in the US by the end of the year...not sure that is going to happen. Just a lot of personal stuff is making this hard on my wife and I. Both financially and with other things.
