Guys. I am so freaking tired now.

Our documents were received by the NVC on 12th of August, but then we realized the NVC had misspelled the petitioner's name in their database. So we had to send a letter in with a copy of passport to update the name and were promised it won't delay our case at all. But when we sent the letter in, the NVC reps started saying that 21st was our new scan date since that is when they received another document from us. Everything has been delayed through no fault of ours. I don't know what to do. It is already 15th and no news yet. I have been calling but it hasn't been helping. They are saying we'll hear something by 21st but I don't know. Do you guys think we'll get something by 21st? What are our options if we don't get it by 21st?

I am so disappointed and disheartened right now. :(

Any help would be appreciated.

I really don't get how to feel ok handling the case like this.

My suggestion is to enlist the assistance of a congressman or sensator. They normally can get easier access to the NVC to make an inquiry. It is absolutely ridiculous that their error is used against you. For that matter when they finish with your case, they need to expedite your interview case.

What does that mean?

U sent 2 packages?

I posted previously here that I got a checklist, NVC claimed they never received our package. So, my husband sent a new package on the 10th of September which was delivered on Monday 14th September.

My husband requested he be transferred to a supervisor but the call rep advised he send new docs since supervisor review takes 42 days.

To our surprise, we received an email from NVC this morning saying they received our package on the 8th of September. Does, this mean they found the previous package that was sent.

I'm guessing the one received September 8 was the original one and that maybe it got stuck in transit. Did you have tracking for it?

If I were you, I'd call NVC to double check!

They officially have received my case at NVC :D

Congrats to all with good news! and fingers crossed that EVERYone gets some good news soon :)

Because I am in same situation I got a checklist and then I sent my docs on 9th sept which were received by nvc at 11 and still no email notification. I hope I will get it by the end of this week.

That is very disconcerting. So mail can fall off the carrier and picked up almost a month later, seemingly going missing like that. That is crazy. When I mailed in my package the NVC said they didn't receive the day of. The next day I called they said that received it that day. The next day I get an email telling me it was received the first day I called.

Hi, guys! Just got Case Complete. Exactly 30 days from the scan date. No checklists. I guess we were lucky!

Congratulations. NVC is back in good form. They milked the 30 days, but I would imagine you don't mind too much eh lol.

Yes, I agree, I hope NVC continues with this trend. My scan date is August 31st. Giving them until the end of the month to call them to check on my case status. Ugh.. it is hard being patient! But we can do it!! :)

Hi, my advice is to call NVC, first to ask them if they received your case.. and if so, how long will it take them for a case #, most likely they will tell you an exaggerated time frame like up to 4 weeks, which is a lie! The time it takes is around a week to get your case # from the date they receive your case. But please go ahead and start calling now!!
