My peace of mind is why I call.

I ask them the status, what happens next, about the process. Never the same operator and I have been LUCKY to get the ones that will talk and look up our case and see the status and tell me to give it a few weeks and call back. Mostly they tell me what I have already read in the guides here.

I called last night to just double check whether my stuff arrived from CSC before the weekend, and was lucky enough to get a chatty guy who was the first NVC operator (well, only out of 3) to not scold me for asking before 35 days. I have seen so many people's things get from USCIS to NVC in 10-15 days, so I don't feel like calling after 17 days is insane.

Anyway, maybe he was just in a good mood because he was going home soon (I got through maybe 15 minutes before the office closed, after being on hold for around half an hour), but it was nice to have someone pleasant, even if he did call me ma'am :lol:

Here's to good news next week!

For those of you who have already sent in your AOS and IV packages, have you written your "case number on the top right of ALL documents (except the bar-coded cover sheet and the cover letter)", as has been suggested in the NVC Wiki (Steps 6,7) by Saylin?

Not sure if the photocopied documents or filled-out forms (like I-864) would get rejected, because the documents would be considered 'tampered' with for writing the case number on them.

Perhaps I should write the case number with a pencil? :)

Man! Why don't they use a less scaring message while working on the case.... I cried and woke my husband, who was napping after the night shift. We both were freaking out for a couple of hours...

Pencil is a good idea, I should have thought of that. I did it in pen, hopefully I will get approved soon.

Paid the IV fee today and the IV Application says "Not Started" ... will I not be able to start it until the fee is processed and shows as PAID ?

I believe it has to be marked as paid. When you are able to start it you will be able to click the "not started" and it brings you to the application.

I simply ran all 60 and something pages of my IV and AoS package through the printer, printing out over 60 copies of the word document with the only thing written there - our case # in the upper left hand corner :idea:

Writing a case number on photocopied documents would not cause any issues.

On 8th sep we called nvc and was being told that our marriage certificate is missing. We mailed the document on same day. And next day we recieved a checklist for it.

So is it OK if we sent the document with any other coversheet rather than the one given with checklist??

I should be a Sept 2015 filer,i130 and i129 Noa2 8/6, I called NVC today and they have still no recieved my case. USCIS could not give me a date for when it was sent to NVC? I am stuck, what should I do? I am outside of the country and making phone calls is a little tough, but I will do it. Anyone have any advice?

Met in and lived in beneficiary's country 2010-2012

Applied 2012-Approved K1 in 2013 (approx 8 months Noa1-approval)- decided to postpone marriage and live together in beneficiary's country before marriage.

Married 11/30/13 -lived together until filing

Filed for K3-04/06/2015

Noa1 04/06/15

Noa2 08/06/15

NVC case # 09/18/2015-case became CR1 (it's true what they say K3 is obsolete-don't even attempt it)

Paid AOS 09/18/2015

11/10/2015 Found out I had a checklist
