I spoke to someone today and it is like they are trying to say they are so behind because of labor day. Based on what they told me, they haven't even started reviewing my documents. It is like they threw it away only to infuriate me and they are doing a good job.

I have a feeling we are supposed to call everyday and convince them to review the 260 the same way we did for the 261... would make sense that they would delay doing it unless we really insist on it

If you guys have any questions specifically for me,

I will be glad to help via private message.

I have called them today. My scan date was 25th August. So what they are saying is call us after 24th September. Just they are used to say 30 days. How do you get a different answer that they have not reviewed. For me they are not saying any word in addition to what I mentioned here. What is the option that you selected when you call? What question you asked? I have asked like the following.

Did you get a chance to review the documents I submitted?

Please suggest the option# number when we call.

Please suggest what question we should ask.

I am waiting for the case complete.........

I think those fast review times some other members affected my expectation.

I pressed 7 when given the various options. I asked if the person or someone else could give me a status of where they are with the review. It looks like that caught the person off guard but alas they didn't check.

They said it is reviewed all at once, I thought maybe they start and maybe get back to it at another time.

Same here. My expectation was raised due to faster review times. I have noticed that they will ask if it's been 30 days yet, and perhaps it's time to say yes, it's been over a month I'm waiting.. i only called once in 16 days. I've been cutting them too much slack lol.

They only care to look further if we care enough to ask more questions (politely)

I have to wonder if things would go faster if they weren't on the phone all the time, answering the same questions from the same people every single day! But I suppose those are dedicated phone-answering people, not the people who process the forms, eh.

I saw someone said on here that VJ people are like 5% of the total people submitting petitions, so...there are a lot of pieces of paper out there, folks, all attached to files of people who are in just as much of a hurry as we are.

I suck at being patient :(

As you said, I don't think the people answering the phones are the ones who are reviewing the documents.

Seems reasonable to call when you have tried to be patient but then you start seeing people with the same scan date or a scan date after yours get a case complete before you. That is where I am now.

There was a recent trend with a slew of members getting some fast review times. I don't want it to stop for others and I certainly don't want it to stop for my case.

Since being at the NVC I have seen things speed up for those after me. I am sure the petitioners from last year and maybe early this year would say the same.

I completed the DS-261 & paid the AOS fees on August 31, 2015. I am still waiting for the AOS to show PAID & for the DS-261 to be reviewed.

I will be electronically filing so I need to pay the IV fee, submit the DS-260 and get the IV Cover Sheet to submit with the supporting documents. I also can't send my AOS documents because they want all documents sent at the same time.

I called a few days ago and they said it was still locked and to wait until the beginning of next week. How long should I wait before I take your suggestion and ask for a supervisor?

Thank you,

If you're doing EP, you don't need the cover sheet to send in with the docs. But don't send in anything until you've completed the DS260. Then you can avoid the problem I've found myself in where I ended up getting a checklist for the DS260 after 11 days and 35 days later I'm still waiting for a CC.

I think as long as you get your DS260 submitted before they review your docs it doesn't matter when it gets submitted. But it seems with EP they're moving even faster these days so I wouldn't recommend to anyone doing EP to send docs before they're able to submit the DS260. Definitely not worth the risk of a checklist because then it seems you get placed in a different pile that gets ignored.

You should be able to get it at the same time as the case number.
