Did not fill out DS-260 in time.

We're in a similar boat though it's only been not quite a month for us. It doesn't make any sense. It's not like it would take more than 10-15 to review. But I'm starting to think that there goes all our hope for us being reunited before Christmas.

Checklist: 2015/08/05 - for DS-260 was having website difficulties and didn't realise they would review our case in 11 days.

Supervisor Review: 2015/09/14 - 38 days after submitted DS-260 and still waiting

Checklist/Email from Supervisor?: 2015/09/18 - for missing police certificate, even though we were suppose to submit directly to the Australian consulate. Emailed them as requested stating that info and called stating that info was told to wait another 30 days for them to respond?!?!?!?! :ranting: At least now I'm in direct email communication with a someone.

Case Complete!! - 2015/09/22 - 110 days

Hi Vjers !!!

I dont remember where I read about NVC taking 20 days to review the cases...

So, we have to count those days since NVC receives our package with allllll the supporting and civil documents?

We just paid the fee US$ 325 and is still In Process...praying to have it as paid and let us fill the DS 260 !

I'm panicking now- didn't realize you could get a checklist for not doing the DS260 in time. I paid mine today and it still says in progress..

Need help Saylin, anyone!!

NEED HELP!!!!

My joint sponsor just called me today and said that he cannot send his updated tax returns for the year 2014 since he has a further extension on his tax returns because of some reasons and is asking me if his son can sponsor me? Of all the #$#$#Q$$ things that could go wrong! :@

His son makes a healthy amount almost 100K so what do i do now? do i call the NVC? Do i call the embassy? Or do i just show up with the new i-864 and tax returns at the interview?

Interview is on the 21st of September

Please help me guys! Freaking out right about now!

From what I understand, having an extension is fine at the pre-interview stage, as long as it is paid-in-full before the interview. Also, if your sponsor is on a payment plan then all should be fine as well. USCIS and NVC aren't extension arms of the IRS looking to collect money...they just need tangible financial proofs.

If I were you, I would get in touch with NVC regardless! I would ask if it's possible to get a new joint-sponsor and submit the I-864 at the interview stage. If for some reason they say no, I would then appeal for an expedite.

Tough situation, I understand how frustrating it is! Best of luck to you!

Finally got my case complete yesterday (no one was reviewing our ds260 for three months after a checklist). I guess I was really lucky cause I got through to a supervisor on the third try.

First person told me supervisor can't help, she can't help, no one can't help, sit there and wait. Which I already knew was a lie, so I called again. Second person I think only pretended to look for a supervisor because she put me on hold for like 10 sec. Finally the last person actually found me a supervisor and a nice lady reviewed out form on the spot. Woo-hoo! Super happy right now. :)

That's a crazy story but completely believable...sometimes I've spoken with nice people and sometimes not so nice! Must be so frustrating to wait through a checklist and not have it even reviewed until you demanded it!

Your case should have already been sent. Call USCIS and ask for a tier 2 supervisor. If it was sent to NVC you should have gotten an email and the status would show online as forwarded to the state department.

Called today. The supervisor says, she can't give me the date and can't confirm if the was actually sent out to NVC. An they can't take any actions before 90 days after the approval notice :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Yes, that was pretty annoying, and we were trying to be nice and wait all the deadlines before calling (like 30 days after checklist, 42 days after sending the case to a supervisor) but they were totally abusing that.

It takes usually around 10-15 days for NVC to receive your case. Just wait and call them again next week. :)

November 25, 2015: Interview Date APPROVED !!!!!!!!!!!! :D

January 05, 2016: Visa Issued

January 12, 2016: Visa in hand :dancing:

January 22, 2016: US$ 165 Fee paid

February 08, 2016: In my new home

POE: Los Angeles

March 07, 2016: Green Card received...but waiting for SSN

A question:

Is the DS-260 filled by the applicant ?? or my husband in USA can fill it for me?

Hi,

Yes, your husband can fill out the form for you... he just has to have all the information it is asking, he will need all of your personal information including DOB and Addresses of your parents. Go to the website http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_Visa_Application.html and download the sample form, and go over all the questions it is asking and provide your husband with the information. :)

10/09/14 - Marriage (L)

02/03/15 - I-130 Sent

02/09/15 - NOA1 :clock:

07/20/15 - NOA2 :dancing:

07/28/15 - USCIS sent case to NVC

08/03/15 - NVC received case

08/14/15 - NVC assigned Case # and IIN #

08/20/15- Paid AOS and IV Fees

08/22/15 - Submitted DS-260

08/25/15 - Sent AOS/IV Packages

08/31/15 - Scan Date (NVC Rep Confirmed by phone) :clock:

09/17/15 - CASE COMPLETE!!!! (NVC Rep Confirmed by phone - 17 days from scan date) :dancing::dance::dancing:

09/24/15 - Received Email with CC Confirmation Letter

10/01/15 - Called NVC, and got Interview Scheduled!! :dancing::dance::dancing:

10/06/15 - Received Interview Letter with Instructions (P4) via Email

10/09/15 - Received Interview Letter with Instructions (P4) via Mail

11/20/15 - Medical Appt.

11/23/15 - Biometrics Appt.

11/24/15 - Interview in Ciudad Juarez, MX - APPROVED!! :D
