When talking over the phone, I asked for the case # and was given it, but I completely forgot there also should be the invoice ID number... How soon shall I be able to obtain it (over the phone?) to be able to enter my page at CEAC website?

Well, I just found the invoice # in my expedite request response (under review), so, that settles it. Now there is another question - how soon shall the fees be invoiced? The case # was assigned on August 10th.

So i called nvc and asked about the status, corrected the email address that they changed because of the i129f they put into the system. Waited 30+ min but I feel happy to call nvc again.. they said that after document review they will make a note but not before then. She also confirmed that they may not have started review.

Also told them to send case status emails to verify the email is correct again

I have a feeling we are supposed to call everyday and convince them to review the 260 the same way we did for the 261... would make sense that they would delay doing it unless we really insist on it

How did you get them to review your 261 over the phone? Every time I call they tell me I have to wait 30 days before anyone review it..... It has been about 21 days now. Did you wait 30 days before you asked them to review the 261 over the phone?

Thank you.

Can some of u people just chill and be patient? I'd Suggest you all find something to do while waiting on NVC. All this annoying NVC isn't going to help. Do u believe that we on VJ are the only ones waiting on NVC? Some people are waiting years who aren't CR1/IR. I only hope some of you stay with your spouses after getting those green cards. Some of you are scammers. Smh

If God takes us to it, He'll bring us through it. He'll never take us where His grace cannot reach and keep us

It's our fault some people are waiting years? No. It's not annoying the NVC when they give specific deadlines and don't meet them. If they're not going to meet deadlines, they shouldn't give out bogus times. Your comment is not only irrelevant, but it's unnecessary.

It does get a bit extreme calling multiple times a day for updates, yes, but calling every couple of days to get updates is not. So, please go kick rocks.

I agree with you 100%. This is a forum for community support and I have experienced this process twice, my first time ended in divorce right before case complete. Thanks god she didn't make it here, and I never gave up and I'm back going through the whole process all over again. I only call nvc like once a week. I just called them and they were able to review my Ds 261 over the phone today, and told me to wait 7 days to pay the iv fee. So I think they are trying to do their work and we are here to support each other and not criticize each other.

Thank you.

I am trying to chill and be patient but it is not so easy. Worse when you see people who send their documents after you get through. Some people seem to do better with waiting. What makes it hard for me is when I see a trend of rapid reviews, only natural to want what seems to be the current trend.

System sheg up yah man.

No, i did not wait more than a few hours before calling, i had it reviewed in a few days. Check out my timeline. After they turn you down, call again later that day or next day. It's your case. They don't care about your case more than you do. Good luck

@KierenHby

I understand what you're saying and maybe I came off too harshly.. I already apologized to CallMeShams because I thought it was someone else's post.

NVC is horrible! The entire process is ridiculous because all the process could be incorporated into one thing. We could've sent both the USCIS docs and NVC docs together and when it's approved USCIS sends the entire package to the NVC. If the application isn't approved then they discard the package. This business of segmenting the process isn't sensible. It's filled with red tapes and beauracracy

Though I agree the processes (USCIS, NVC) aren't flawless, there is a LOT going on. I recall a recent member quote alluding to a NVC rep along the lines of.. "you should see the NVC floor lined up to the gills with petitions".

It is their collective responsibility (nvc\uscis\embassy) to weed out the scammers, fraudsters, etc.

NVC isn't necessarily horrible, they seem to be doing the best under trying circumstances. Could the process be improved? Of course.

Does it look to you as these people are willing to weed out scammers and fraudsters? They make a lot of money from the immigration. Suppose they were to weed the scammers out? They said over 400,000 family applications and it costs $420 per application for USCIS alone. And another $445 for NVC plus $165 for the green card. Do the math
