Hi. I applied together with my daughter, but in order to follow USCIS rules, we had to send separate forms.

For the NVC, because I had a police report missing, I actually sent her documents through email one day before mine.

Everything about her case took longer than mine. Her case was locked for 10 days at DS-261, we only got it fixed through a supervisor. She's eight, so I can't really understand why everything about her case is hard, while mine in reality is a lot more complicated (I am divorced, have lived in many different places so I had to send several police reports...).

It simply makes no sense.

WOW- so frustrating...she's only 8! They must have put her in a wrong pile or something at some point.

American girl and Swiss/Italian boy who met in San Francisco in 2009, moved to Amsterdam in 2014 and married in Switzerland in 2015. Both living and filed for CR-1 from abroad. (L)

Congratulations. You beat me lol. None for us here. You got the 17 day review.

Hoping for CC soon too.

Had you called the NVC from when you sent your documents in? Trying to see if they slow it down if one calls too much during the document review phase.

If that's the case I better pack my bags and just make life with my husband at home. I called 2 a day everyday for 8 days+ various calls when I first got there....

... then again I'm still waiting for my scan date email and they got the paperwork on Monday.

I call every day and still got my CC in 20 days, so I don't think anyone gets slowed down. I've now talked to the same person 3 days in a row and don't even have to ask whether my wife's interview is scheduled yet as she knows my question in advance.

Got email yesterday morning. But couldn't open attachment. Called NVC and they said it was just the notification the AOS/IV was received Monday. Strange thing was I didn't get the 30 day dialog. Instead she said it will be a few days before it gets to review.

Hi There,

I've been having some issues with calling NVC and getting in touch with the right department - this has happened 3 times now. I am at the stage where I have filled out the DS 261, paid the AOS fee, and am waiting for the DS 260 to be available to me along with the IV invoice.

- I call 603-334-0700

- I press 1 for English (the only other option is 2 for Spanish, if I don't press anything, I get disconnected)

- I press 1 to speak to customer rep (no other option, if I don't press anything, I get disconnected)

- When I get connected to a rep after ~25-30 minutes, they take my NVC case number, check on their side, and say that I've pressed a wrong button, because they are only handling cases where the interview has already been scheduled/taken place, and that they will connect me to the right department. When they do that, I either get disconnected, or I come back to the same department again.

Anyone else facing this? Any pointers on what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks

The options have changed. There are 7 options now. Sounds like you are wanting option 3 which is to establish agent.

I paid the Aos in 8/19 and I am still waiting on the IV fee and 260 form to be available. So I just went ahead and mailed both aos and iv documents in one package. I called nvc and they said it was ok. Edited by Hassan&Amina

Yes. I also did that. I sent out my package on Aug 15, paid IV on the 21st and filled out DS-260 on Aug 24. By the way, you should call NVC to review your choice of agent if you haven't done that.

You know, my case took 6 days and my daughter's 9 days to get the documents receipt email :-(

And I only got them one day after calling and asking about it. Have you tried calling NVC?

We're on the same boat! Ours arrived but have yet to be scanned...we also have a joint-sponsor, hope that won't delay us both too much! :)

Good luck to us both! Hopefully if one of us gets news, the other won't be far behind!

Was your joint sponsor a friend or family? It's my friend, who's a dentist, so income shouldn't be a problem, but she ordered the wrong transcripts (W2s not tax returns), and she's married, so I used the 2014 tax return and her W2s, employment letter, and 3 paystubs.

You scan date will most likely be today and you will probably get the e-mail on Friday saying they received your documents on 9/2/15.

Right on time! Got the email yesterday :-)
