Ok guys here I go again with my uber-specific questions lol. I'm filling out the I-864 for my husband. I in absolutely no way whatsoever make enough money for the support requirement, I'm a working college student so I make less than $10,000 a year (so pitiful! lol). No problem, my dad is more than willing and able to be a joint sponsor. Here's the thing....we are currently living with my parents...and the possibility of affording our own place is quite a while down the road...probably a full year from now. My question is, do I need to have my dad fill out a separate I-864 as a joint sponsor OR do I include him in my househole since we are living with him? Normally I wouldnt think he would be included in MY household cuz he doesnt need my income to survive, I need his. But I assume it would be easier in that case...then it would just be the 4 of us for the household and my dad would just need to fill out I-864A the contract b/w household members? And then in that case do I include my mom as well? I dont need to include my mother's income to meet the poverty requirement, my dads is sufficient. Am I making any sense at all? LOL

AND......if an when we ARE able to afford our own place....will it make a difference if that household is then split up? We wont be able to afford a place till my husband gets his EAD.....that could be 3 months....or much longer lol....and then it all depends on what kind of a job he gets. So do I do the combined household if its possible, or have my dad as a separate joint sponsor for the case if we do move out?

:help:

Ok...I've been able to find a read a bit more info....I'm pretty sure that I can include my dad in the household to meet the income requirement. But then am I obligated to include my mom when computing the household size? And if/when we move out.....will that completely erradicate the original I-864? Or should I just go ahead and have my dad as a joint sponsor so if/when we move out it wont be a problem. Hopefully this is less confusing than my OP!!

You are asking so many questions, slow down.

The household includes everyone who your father is with including your mother. If you have siblings, and your siblings depends on your parents for a living then they are also considered household members. The answer to whether or not the I-864 will be removed when you moved out is ' no '. It stays until you file for citizenship 3 years after for your husband. Oh, make sure that the combined household member is referenced with the income above the 125% Poverty line in order to be a sponsor.
