Last week I called to get my case number and was told to email some stuff cause they put the wrong last name . This morning I call and I'm told it's allset and I get the case number and everything has been forwarded . Now this evening I call to double check to make sure and I'm told the name is not changed and I can get not get my case number until name change . Who do I believe . Every time I'm getting different answer . Anyone who has done a k1 visa what does it usually start with . Maybe i can just email the embassy if I do have the correct case number . Any help will be much appreciated

Well if you're getting different answers from "Agents." Then you raise the issue to their Supervisor so this matter can be taken seriously. In your case he can accurately tell you the information. Your NVC case number should start with 3 letters of your local embassy and followed by 2015 and so on so forth. If that is the format of the number you received. That is your NVC case number.

And no I don't drive Uber.

Well that's good news don't need to deal with nvc anymore since I have the case number wonder if the person who gave it to me was a mistake or the person this evening who didn't want to give to me was a mistake

Now you have to case # you need to fill out DS261 then pay Affidavit of Support fee then send all the documents and then pay DS260 fees and all.

Already have it filled out and fees are paid at embassy . I'm going there I'll be there around 2 weeks of interview so I'll have everything there with me

K1 does not pay affadevit of support fee and that's for cr1 as its 325 when k1 I believe 220 but it's not in the 300

As a K1 you need to complete the DS160 not the DS261, just FYI :)

Good luck. Glad you got it sorted!
