Hi everybody,

Anybody have any idea of what happens when your I-751 case is tranferred from the Vermont Service Center to the California Service Center.

What could be the next step.

Has anyone been in the same situation?

I am a US citizen from Maryland

I have been married since 05/12.

10/15 filed for my spouse's GC .

2/26/13 we went for interview and were approved on the spot.

Mid march GC came in the mail.

In 02/04/15 I filed I-751 for Removal of conditions on her green card to the Vermont Service Center.

NoA date is 02/05/2015

2 weeks after received letter stating that her GC althoug expiring was extended for a year and with that she can travel and accept employment with that letter.

03/16/15 she did biometrics at a local support center.

No updates for long time until...

08/19/15 when i received alert say that her CRI89 is transferred to a local office which has jurisdiction over her case.

08/28/15 received a NoA from the VSC stating that " CRI 89 Approved Removal of Conditions (I 89)" was transfered to the California Service Center".

What does it mean?

What is next....

Thanks for your help.

Good morning V'Jers,

I checked CRI89 case status on the USCIS website this morning and here is what I got:

"On August 28, 2015, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number EAC#######, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

August 28 is also the date on the NoA stating that case was tranferred from VSC to CSC..

Is this a glicht from the USCIS system or does it mean that case is sent back to my local field whicheverybody is assume is Baltimore since i am in Maryland.

It is kind of confusing.

In one case or the other what does it means.

Does anyone has any idea what is going on?

What is the next step?

Please help.

Here's a link on what CRI89 approved removal of conditions (I89) means:

The current transfer notice currently contains the following phrase: “CRI89 approved removal of conditions (I89).” That statement means that the biometric portion of the case has been successfully transferred; it does not, however, mean that the petition itself was approved.

While USCIS is in the process of changing the language in the transfer notice, a substantial number of notices have already been mailed containing the potentially confusing statement. Any petitioner who may have received such a notice should be aware of the following:

  • At the time the I-751 was transferred, USCIS had not yet adjudicated (approved or denied) the case;
  • USCIS transferred the case to the Service Center listed on the notice for adjudication; and
  • If the petitioner has not received additional information from the California or Vermont Service Centers, USCIS has not yet adjudicated the case.

Paragraphs 3 and4 from the following link:

http://www.uscis.gov...ent-petitioners

can you fix your link?

Edit:

http://www.uscis.gov/archive/archive-news/uscis-clarifies-language-form-i-751-transfer-notices-sent-petitioners

found it.. it's dated from 2008 and they still haven't fixed it???

I'm going thru the same "confusing situation" but I called the National Number for Immigration and spoke to an agent and he "guaranteed" to me that this " local Office status" online few days after getting the Transferred NOA from VSC to CSC is a STANDARD MESSAGE. He was very nice and basically told me that their system doesn't work as accurately as we think it does. He said that the " local office" refers to a change of processing center and some will get the RIGHT message when the check the status of their case and some won't. He even gave to me an example of a situation that has been going on for years but they never changed, which is some people who apply for ROC as divorced, they still get a interview notice requiring the spouse to come with them when in fact they don't need to.... so don't worry and let's hope for the best for all because none of us want a 2nd interview.

Hello Ed,

My husband and I are also from MD and we applied for the removal of conditions on 02/23/2015. Our case got transferred to CA on 08/19 and to the Local Office (Baltimore) on 09/02. Our lawyer says that it does not necessarily mean we get called for the interview. Vermont office is simply overwhelmed! We are hoping to hear something from the USCIS within a month.

Hope it helps.

Let's keep each other updated, since our local office is Baltimore! :)
