I've noticed loads of these kinda questions on the interweb, and they all seem to state different things, even the information the embassy supply when you get an interview doesn't state what you need to bring, yes they supply a link, however it doesn't work and when you do find the correct part of the website its doesn't state aLl the things you need. For example it doesn't state you need to bring your DS-160, however the DS-160 form receipt cleary states you need to bring this to your interview.

so my question is what exactly do i have to bring to my interview in London for the K1 visa. my interview in September 3rd 2015

many thanks

Steve

The list on this London page http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/application_documents.html

And these things:

DS-160 confirmation- it says bring it but not usually asked for in London

Receipt showing you paid online

Interview letter

If petition is expired--new letter of intent from fiance

If police certificate says "no live trace"-- a Subject Access Report from ACPO

Note:

Passport photo is now ONE and they give it back

They say bring photocopies of documents, but they no longer want those either.

Based on the embassy reviews I would say bring everything because depending on which agent you get, they ask for different things. It's better to be safe than sorry. That's what we are planning on doing, we will even bring a copy of the I 129F even though it most likely it will not be requested.

*** Country-specific thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the Philippines regional subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Nich-Nick,

I have just noticed I was assigned an Alien number on my receipt notice.

Is this normal for everyone? I don't know why I still haven't been approved as Feb fillers after me have gotten their approval.

I was wondering whether you could advise from your experience?

Thank you.

That is probably better answered by somebody else. I am only aware of the A# being assigned on the petition approval notice. But I don't keep up with the day to day doings of what USCIS notices look like these days. Anybody else ? Did you ask your February group?

I'm sorry if I'm misinformed, but I believe there is an A# assigned to you on your approved petition. The one that is assigned by the DS-160 I believe is a reference ID used to get back into your form later. Ours was AA(numbers and letters).

Honestly am confused. I only realised I was assigned an Alien number on my receipt notice although with a single A# and numbers. No I dea what this means.

Heard you can only have an alien number if you have a green card?!!!?

I don't know what to follow anymore, I can only wait and see what's coming next.

Lade--the A number is assigned when the petition is approved for sure. It is on the NOA2. It gets printed on the visa. You put it on your AOS application. Look at these two photos..http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=4

.NOA2 approval shows where the A number is found. NOA1, the receipt does not have the A number. The photos are of the older version of the form which was on fancier paper with fancier writing at the top, but the wording should be about the same.

Thanks for sharing this. I can definitely confirm I have the A number on my Noa1 receipt!

Could this be why I haven't been approved? Maybe there is confusion somewhere.

That is certainly worth digging into. Call USCIS and keep asking for a Tier 2 person. I used to hear that if you keep asking four or five times, they have to connect you. (but like I said before, I don't pay much attention to petition issues anymore so don't know if that works now). My old secret trick was call the number, then when it answers dial 123123 really fast. I would get a lady that answered in Spanish who would tell me everything. Very helpful. Probably won't work anymore, but try it. (She did speak English as well. )

I have just called and they have asked for my fiancé to give them a call as they wouldn't speak to the beneficiary. But the lady said I shouldn't worry about the number that some people do get that and some don't.

Thanks for all your help ?
